Nerves are getting the best of me!

I was way more nervous before I had my hysterectomy. For some reason that one made me very fatalistic. As a single woman I was thinking about who would take care of my animals if I weren't around. I talked to my best friend about taking my horse and another friend about my cat. Of course all went well and I was back to mucking out my horses stall in 1 1/2 weeks and I'm still here. The WLS didn't really make me nervous, of course you worry about the pain and other trivial things to obsess over before surgery. Do I have enough shakes, when can I drive, what will I do if I need something. The actual surgery was almost anti-climatic, and my friend helped me out afterwards. Looking back I wish I had done this years ago.

Lindalyn, you probably won't believe this but I actually cancelled my surgery (revision from lap band to sleeve in 2012). I was all approved and everything and ready to go. I now wish I had just pushed through. I scared myself to death. I guess all I can say is you are not alone in your ambivalence but my advice would be that if you have done your due diligence in researching everything and talking to your doc, to just do it!!

P.S. I am now in the process of lap band to RNY and I will not cancel this time.
