Choosing between programs in NC: Duke, or WakeMed?

I'm just starting to explore WLS again after a lapse of several years. My insurance plan will cover either Duke or WakeMed. Does anyone here have experience (or even just word of mouth) about either of these places?

In my 15 months in here I've only run into one person that had the surgery at the same hospital as I did.

I'd check to see if either offers a bariatric seminar.

No advice because I didn't have my surgery here, but I'm saying hi from Chapel Hill!

you may or may not find anyone on here with knowledge of those two places. I've only been aware of one person on here who had her surgery at the same place I did, and I don't think she's on here anymore.

These surgeries have become so routine that either hospital should be a fine place to have it, so that piece might be a toss-up. Check to see if one or the other offers more support, though. If so, that might weigh in to your decision...

I had my rny (2011) and distal revision (2016) at Duke. I wasn't aware there was a bariatric program at WakeMed. There is Rex Bariatrics at Rex in Raleigh.
