What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

So fun! I love a good themed party! My BFF's cookout will have a cactus theme...Lookin' Sharp... get it? Lol.
We got a projector and screen last summer and it is so nice! But it's hard to deal with not being able to start a movie until 9:30 when it is dark enough! I wish I could power through and stay awake late like a grown up, but I have the sleep patterns of a teacher--asleep at 9pm and up at 4am. Sigh.
Ooooh, love that theme. Gotta use it for a future party!!
The "boys" will stay up all night, we women are not planning on an all nighter.
Last Halloween we played a scary movie on our garage door. It was so funny, at one point there were like 10-15 kids in the middle of the street jus****ching the movie instead of going trick or treat. I told DH next year we're gonna put lawn chairs and charge for a ticket.

Good afternoon, All!
I had to be at the hospital this morning for phase 2 of this Alzheimer's research study I'm in. I had to spend an hour in an MRI machine, then have a lumbar puncture (they're checking for biomarkers). I was dreading the lumbar puncture because I have unpleasant memories of one I had several years ago, but this one went really well. Whew!
I had to fast at least four hours before going to the hospital - but given my appt was in the morning, I knew that would be tough. So I had a protein bar on my night stand and I ate it at 3:00 am when I got up to use the bathroom. Perfect! Otherwise, I would have gone for over 12 hours without food. No way... (they fed me after the testing - I was so glad to finally see a meal!!).
big news - I scheduled my plastic surgery for Aug 10 in Chicago! So exciting! I'm having an LBL first - may do more later, but we'll see how this turns out.
accountability - I went over in calories because I ate an extra meal late last night to keep from starving this morning (this was in addition to my 3:00 am protein bar - which occurred to me to do later). But...it was one of those things...
QOTD: we used to host dinner parties all the time, but it's been years since we've done it. We had a "gourmet group" (although we couldn't call it that because one person threatened to quit if we did). We would pick a country, and then we all had to bring a dish from that country. It was great fun. But a lot of the people were post docs, PhD students, and visiting faculty from abroad, and they all eventually went back home to wherever they were from, and the dinners ended. We don't host things with my family because of cat allergies - we usually do holidays at my sister's house. I do miss hosting...although I hated the cleaning we had to do beforehand!
2 years 11 months out:
B: 3:00 am protein bar
L: egg/cheese/turkey sausage on a whole wheat English muffin, 1/2 C melon, coffee with half & half
AS: more coffee. May have some yogurt...
D: I'm hoping pork tenderloin tonight, plus an Asian-style kohlrabi salad
So excited for your surgery plans! I'm glad that you found what you felt comfortable with. Just know that the weeks in the compression gear will be hot!

Gotta do it when it works! Just make sure that you have more than one binder so you can trade off and wash them. They get smelly!

My first home in Seattle had a big ole view so we hosted many 4th of July parties.
My SIL (my clothes shopper)loves to host the holidays. I did it for so many years and am extremely grateful she enjoys doing it.
Today I had a new Starbucks drin****d cold brew with cold foam..called iced cappuccino something. The one kind of foam has sugar one does not. I had it with 2 splendas. I liked it. Served in a cup without a straw. I get excited about coffee.
Also had chicken, hummus,a protein bar, yogurt, and 1 tablespoon of nuts. I went back to physical therapy. During the intake the therapist asked if I needed to talk to a NUT about post Rny diets. I asked her what did she want to know?
