What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

Hi Sheila,

I make botanical oils, powders, bath preparations, fragrance mists, lip balms, etc. I do enjoy it and it is in many ways interesting, but it is all very labor-intensive. My next venture will incorporate what I've learned but I will not manufacture, only design and approve final renditions. I know what I want to do next, so the next time someone offers me funding I'm going to grab it and begin!

Sooooo interesting. I know someone who does it amongst my group of friends. Interestingly she targets teenagers, her products are only for teenagers.

That really is interesting! My products are a bit on the otherworldly side. Here is a company doing exactly what I want next to do, though of course different designs, fragrances, and formulas:

I really am good at the creative end of things - it really is my strength. I loved making all of my labels, designing the formulas, etc. Next time I will keep things far from anything smacking of spookiness and just do flat-out beautiful products which will have a much broader appeal. I've had offers of financing a pretty significant launch in the past, but didn't accept them because 1) I wasn't ready, and 2) the offers came from guys who wanted more than I was ready to go forward with. But I'm ready now and I'm telling you, next time money like that is offered for me to start this new business i will take it. Til then I do love what I do, but the manufacturing is very labor intensive and costly.

This is my friend's website, for your future reference. I always get ideas from folks in my industry so I figured you might like to see hers.

What book are you listening to? I am an audible *****I listen to them to and from on my long commutes and now that I am not working, I am listening on the treadmill. Easier than turning pages :)

Right now I'm listening to A Gentleman in Moscow - it has tremendous charm, and makes me nostalgic for a more civilized time.

Oh I have that all queued up and ready to go because I recently finished one of his other books, The Rules of Civility. It was really good!
