What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
on 5/24/18 2:30 am
Good morning everyone! I am up super early for an unemployed girl because I am EXCITED! I got more very promising news about my dream job last night and today there should be a lot of forward movement. I will be able to ask my clarifying questions this morning on a call, but the texts and emails I have gotten in the last 24 hours make it sound like it is a done deal. PHEW!
Accountability: Nailed it! I am not sure why I am having such a hard time sticking to the menu I write here, but at least I am making very good choices in it's place. I am also killing it with the exercise. Yesterday was running, yoga, and some pretty serious home renovation work that involved a lot of heavy lifting. Sore again this morning but feeling good and feeling motivated to do a lot more today.
QOTD: When is the last time you threw a party or hosted a big holiday? I feel like I have been hostess with the mostess a lot lately! We hosted family and friends for every major holiday this year. Last weekend we had a small gathering for Grim's museum exhibit, and this weekend I am hosting a rather large cookout for my BFF's birthday. I love hosting but it is somewhat exhausting and super expensive!
Exercise: Gym Day! Planning on a 3 mile treadmill run and some strength training.
Good morning! Yes you are up early. Me too for someone out on STD, lol.
Yesterday was my 1st post op appt. Was not cleared to move to pureed foods yet and also couldn't get staples removed from hernia repair. Go back next week to try again.
QOTD my baby sister has a house big enough to host family get togethers so she has done this for years. When DH and I built our retirement home, we now have room to host because we went with an open concept floor plan. So now it seems I am hosting many of the holidays. Can't complain, just paying dues since my sister did it for so many years.
Yesterday-cal 509, prot 76, carbs 40, fat 7.
Today-B tea with half and half, 1/2 premier shake; L non fat greek yogurt and 1/2 premier shake; D 1/2 premier shake and non fat greek yogurt, snacks- 1/2 premier shake, Crystal light, diet cram cherry juice.
Happy Friday Eve!

Just being nosy, but how come you were not cleared for pureed foods yet? Did they give you a timeline?
Sorry for the delays. It always seems to take so long but soon you'll be an old pro!

Morning JB and OHer's....such good news on your job front JB!...today it's supposed to be around 70 degrees - perfect! Our condo complex is having our outside parking lots and driving areas resurfaced over the next two days. This is my buildings day to keep our garage closed up...we won't be able to drive on the surface for a day/nite? It will look nice when finished...and I'll be happy when it's over...

Have a great day everyone...oh, I've been following librarians plastic surgery...(ouch! Ouch ouch and just oowweeee...all you people who do PS are brave people!)
Thanks Rosemi! This surgery has gone more smoothly than I expected! I understand that Lipo can be much more painful and cause more bruising. My PS laughed at me in the recovery room because there wasn't anything to remove but skin. No wonder I have trouble floating in the pool

Good morning! Yesterday was busy, and tonight we are cleaning out the garden shed. Can't say I'm excited to do it on a week night but we have some stuff to go to the dump and won't be able to get there on the weekend.
accountability: not the best. Work potluck yesterday wasn't really good on protein. I had some polish sausage with kraut, and nobody else really brought anything in! I ate some of my vegan spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips, and had a square of cheesecake bar for dessert. Ugh.
Qotd: I don't host things because we just don't have room. Our house is less than 700sq ft and we don't even have a table for people to eat at! When we move next year one of my requirements is space to host holidays and parties because I do love hosting. When I was in my early 20s my cousin and I lived in an apartment with a huge sitting room so we hosted board game nights frequently.
My ankles are swollen this morning, so I'll be hitting the water hard.
breakfast: coffee and premier
lunch: bacon ranch tuna creations over a bed of spinach and kale, a sliced radish, and some green onion--all from the garden!
dinner: salmon and zucchini

The kraut sounds so yummy! I might have to get a jar to have with my TJs chicken sausages.
