What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers??

Morning. My second attempt at a physical therapy appt. yesterday for my elbow tendinitis was a success. I had to bail on my morning appt. because of traffic. I left 1.5 hours early and still didn't make it. Luckily it's LA and they were understanding and allowed me to reschedule for the afternoon. The therapist thinks that I should be feeling better in about 2 weeks. I booked 4 weeks worth of appointments just to be on the safe side. Today's annoyance . . . we're moving our office about 1.6 miles. The move is in a month. Today the microwave is gone. The toaster oven is going tonight and the refrigerator is going on Friday. We're not moving for A MONTH! I would buy a portable cooler, but I have no way of cooking or heating anything, so it looks like I'll be bringing food in EVERY SINGLE DAY for the next month. Anyone have any good ideas on what I can eat that doesn't require refrigeration or cooking????

QOTD: Before surgery the answer would have been purses and shoes. I couldn't fit into any clothes I like, so I spent a boatload on accessories. Now, clothes for sure. I kind of went overboard once the world was opened up to me. Now I buy in spurts. My problem is I'll buy now because I can, not because I need to.

My Plan:

B: Bacon (adios, toaster oven)

L: we're going out to lunch for co-workers' birthdays, so either a bunless burger or a salad with ahi tuna. Although the restaurant has brussels sprouts that I crave . . . grilled with feta cheese on the top. I may have to convince someone to get an order.

D: Steak and artichoke

S: Latte and likely a mini Kind bar between gym classes

E: Spin and circuit (upper body . . . thank god since last night was booty blaster and spin. I'm SORE!)

No. They want everything out of the kitchen and if the fire marshall comes through and finds it anywhere else, I am subject to a fine.

Hmmm, they now have some P3 packs that don't require refrigeration (has jerky/nuts and maybe dried fruit in a few).

Starkist makes a tuna salad in a pouch - each pouch has 3 ounces, 100 calories, 14 grams of protein, and 3 grams of carbs. It's not bad.

Kroger makes a ranch flavored tuna in a pouch which is good too, delivering 17 grams of protein, 100 calories, and 2 grams of carbs.

You might be able to find some good beef jerky, this is generally high in protein too, though it tends to be full of sodium.

I like the tuna packets too! So many varieties.

I know, they're delish! My only problem with them is how to keep from having them every day!

For refrigeration, you could use a PACKIT freezer bag. I bought mine after WLS to bring food to work and use it frequently when I am on the road now. I make my own tuna and eat it with cottage cheese for lunch, so I needed refrigeration but not heating.

Hi all! Happy Wednesday! Another stunningly glorious day here in the PNW!

QOTD: After having jettisoned about 80% of my possessions prior to my big move, I have had to repurchase quite a few things. I needed and still need some furniture. I haven't yet begun to replace my large library, but that will come. I've just placed a big order for essential oils and absolutes, but that is work related and not a splurge. As far as frivolous spending goes, mostly I've been spending on clothes and shoes. I tried buying from swap.com, but ended up with things that didn't really work well for me. I bought a couple of things that looked great in photos but really bad on me, including one beautiful looking NWT sweater that couldn't be a worse fit if it tried, and a Talbots skirt with a weird, unflattering ruffle that couldn't be seen in the photo online. Then I get so busy that I neglect to return them, and what seemed a bargain became a waste of money. I'm not doing that again. I did splurge on a new pair of Ugg boots which will be delivered today. They are tall and black. My old pair in the same style but a different color are still going strong after at least 15 years, so these new ones should last as well, and it does get cold up here. These types of boots aren't chic in the least, but they are very cozy. Here is something cool: I have been practicing wearing/walking in my heels again! After 9-10 years of being very heavy and sticking to flats out of necessity, it is a joy to be able to wear beautiful high heels once more. But I need practice - it's weird that the heels I wore for decades without any thought now need practice to walk in!

First: two huge mugs of tea, with many more to come today! I am loving Celestial Seasonings Fireside Vanilla Spice, and Lipton's Green Tea with Mandarin Orange. Yum! Speaking of which, does anyone else here remember Celestial Seasonings back in the early 1970's? They used to sell a few ounces of loose tea in a simple muslin bag, not in tea bags or illustrated boxes.

B: ham and smoked gouda

L: tuna

D: turkey

S: Greek yogurt

I'm keeping my calories to under 650. Hopefully I will have a good rest of my 11th month, weight loss-wise!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!
