Good morning!

What a beauty of a day. The bike ride was good, but I am finding that my knees are really sore lately. I've been working them a little more between the biking and avoiding the elevator at work (4 flights of stairs every time there's a meeting, lunch/coffee break, water refill or bathroom break). It's good but my knees are raging against the machine a bit.

Menu: Protein bar and a coffee, apple/meat stick (both snacks) and lunch is leftover chicken fajita filling without the wrap. Supper is unknown but protein-first. All vitamins and water will get in, no problem there.

Last night I took the kids out for supper because momma was not feeling well. My oldest had mac-cheese and steamed broccoli, and I split a chicken fajita with my youngest. It was tasty. It's almost pointless for me to go out to eat though (hence the leftovers for lunch, I guess). Accountability: We stopped for gas and a few groceries, and I bought the kids a bit of candy and some treats for my wife if she was feeling better, and I had a few pieces. It tasted OK with my hazelnut decaf coffee, but not anything to write home about so I walked away from it.

QOTD:

Without a doubt, over the years I've spent too much on drum equipment and band gear. The student kit I have is worth maybe $350 including the hardware and cymbals, but the pro-kit I have is creeping up there around the $5000 mark if I had to replace it all with new in an insurance-claim situation. I might be able to find something comparable on kijiji or craigslist, but I doubt it. Drummers are usually pretty picky about what we keep and sell, so "good" stuff doesn't come up much.

Other than that, I've bought a lot of thrift-store clothes in the past year, and my wife reminds me of that regularly.

Good morning JB and menu crew - enjoy your timie off, you will be scooped up before you know it, take full advantage and enjoy that walk on the beach...very Jelly ( Jealous)here! I love the beach! The sights, sounds and smells....that is relaxation at its finest. Last night Joddie and I went to camp and cleaned, made the beds and brought a few things from home, I will do groceries tomorrow after the gym and bring them directly to camp and then we are ready for a long weekend.

Accountability - good, spot on.

QOTD - Clothes - it was a rainy weekend so I cleaned out my closet. Can you believe that I had held on to some XXL shirts and 42 pants - just in case - they are all gone now. Unreal!!!! My closet was over flowing as I cant pass up a deal. Ladies you will appreciate this - I do not have many pairs of shoes, I have to dress business casual and still do not have a big selection of shoes..I guess I need to start buying...LOL

Morning!

Had my second gym first this week. Monday being successful yoga, and last night I was working with nutrition guy trainer ... I have done 270 on the leg press, although it is hard. He says- Do you want to try more? I'm thinking he's going to throw a 10lb plate on each side. Nope 45lbs on each side. What??? 360lbs total. He was like- Don't worry I'm here. Dang I did it 3 sets. Now if I could build my overhead strength

QOTD: I have been on personal austerity for awhile. My only splurge/discretionary spending being Starbucks. I changed my order there to be more affordable. I now get grande americano with a splash of heavy cream. About $3. I figure the water plus heavy cream makes it similar to a latte, and you actually get three shots espresso not two. If I am using Starbucks as my home office once you buy a drink you can get free refills of regular coffee and tea with the app. So I figure it works out.

B: Latte, Overnight oats w/protein powder

L: mojito chicken thighs , spinach

D: meat sauce w/ricotta/lite mozzarella, salad

S: protein shake or bar, ???

Mojito chicken came out awesome. Bought this McCormick Grillers Marinade Mojito spice packet. Made it according to directions but also added thinly sliced lime and red onion. Marinaded the boneless thighs for a day. Baked with the lime and onion and just a little sauce on a sheet pan. I did on convection so it browned. Really good.

Ex: something at gym at some point

My fav Starbucks drink is $5.73. I was sipping on one when I found out I was laid off and I think the 2nd thing that crossed my mind was, "Hope you liked this coffee, because that was the end of your $6/day Sugar Free Cinnamon Dolce Latte habit!"...

yes, agree on the coffee! I load $$ on dunkin card and starbucks, rack up the reward points on them. I also like the local gas station coffee- they let you refill for $1 here so super cheap.

oh another shortcut on starbucks- when they have those promo where you get XX points for XX visits. each purchase counts unless it says each day. so if they charge .50 for almond milk for example and you get a refill, that is 2 visits.

Wow, that's incredible about the leg presses! So proud of you. I'm scared to imagine how light it would have to be for me right now... Two days of heavy lifting and extra gym time are making me sore and sorely aware of how out of shape I have gotten!
