Good morning :)

This morning I'm off for blood work. I have attempted making an appointment time so I want to see how that works out. I don't know what else I will get up to. I have a pickup donation today so I have the boxes out of my sunroom finally. Just a few things to move to the basement and maybe a chair to get rid of.

QOTD: my first thought was that I spend too much money on special food things like sf flavourings and protein bars/powder. I really could be eating fresh whole foods, but I do find these things a bit of a treat. Often I will go across the border and stock up on things we can't get here.

Post-op three years, two months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - toast and PB

Lunch - leftover rib

Snack - Greek yogurt

Dinner - tbd depends if there are enough ribs left

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

I'd forgotten about protein bars/shakes (mostly shakes - although I always have a box or two of protein bars around). I must have 10 different flavors of protein powder in my cupboards. But then, I have a shake almost every day, and I like to play around with flavors and combos so I don't get tired of them, so...

Oh, I have a lot of shakes too. I use everything I buy, I could just spend less by not buying specialty things. And I love trying new things. BabsinGA hosted us one day and she laughed because I wanted to visit all the grocery stores near her ;)

Good morning,

Im having a good week. Had a good chat with my pastor yesterday.

Today I'm taking my friend to the va to see if we can get things straightened out. She was supposed to have surgery last Monday and they dropped the ball and didn't get her pre op stuff done. They just keep yanking her around. Now I see how they treat our veterans.

Tonight my friends grandson is coming for two days, that should be fun.

I stayed on plan yesterday, I took Jb advice last night about fatigue and making wrong choices. I was going to make more coffee but decided I was tired so I took my medication and fell asleep.

Qotd lately it's been gas for the car and convenience store drinks.

B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese

L might go out to Logans, if not tuna, cottage cheese and apple

D mozzarella and roasted garlic chicken sausage and carrots.

Have a good day

Veteran's healthcare is so awful! They serve their country and then get treated like they are disposable! Makes me so mad!

Happy Wednesday! I can't wait until the sun comes out and it warms up. I've had it with dreary and cool.

QOTD: Since I am on a fixed income now, I need to buckle down a lot and not just buy whatever I feel like. I had developed a lot of bad shopping habits over the years as my income went up and my kids were no longer supported by me.

  1. Number one is spending on clothing and shoes. I really don't NEED anything additional.
  2. Number two is going out to eat. I hate cooking and I don't have any problem sticking to plan when we go out. BUT, it costs money.
  3. Number three is home improvements. I really don't need to have a home that looks like a decorator did it (though obviously I still have to take care of the maintenance).

2 Years, 2 months post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad with pickles and cottage cheese

D: ceviche, scallops and veggies (DS cooking at home)

S: apple and/or protein bar

you're right about clothes and shoes. Now that you're retired, there's no need for a spiffy professional wardrobe. I buy most of my stuff (other than swimsuits and underwear) at second-hand places. Sometimes you can find things that still have the tags on them!

yea - going out to eat is a huge money pit. That was a hard one for me to put the brakes on. I do like to cook, but we always liked going out to eat, too. Loved trying all the new restaurants. Before surgery, that was an area where we spent too much money. We still go out occasionally, but not like we did before.

home improvements - yes, maintenance is really important. We've done some remodeling in our house, but most of it was because the DIY'er who lived here before us took on a lot of projects that he wasn't qualified to do, so many of our "improvements" were because we had to deal with problems like water damage that was a consequence of whatever the knucklehead did. UGH.

Houses can be money pits. I love secondhand shops as well, but I still need to restrain from buying stuff I don't need.

hi all and thanks for all the birthday wishes had a great dinner at indian place. followed by a coffee from starbucks and a slight RH episode - wasnt bad. i really wanted a kiddie size gelato but that didn't happen. talked myself out of a major RH. All in all, major win.

QOTD: Although I'm supershopper I'm also super thrifty. I buy too many clothes and shoes and makeup and perfumes -that being said, I still have tons and tons of clothes. my summer tops fit fine from last year but my pants sadly dont. I was down to 118 last summer had had twisted bowel and hernia so it was hard to eat solid food. So needless to say, size 0 and 2 generally dont fit anymore. Anyone in the market for those sizes let me know :) so i had to go back thru everything to weed out what i dont think i will ever get back to size wise. my body comp has changed a lot in the past year. much more dense packed and more muscle. which means now my butt and hips are bigger: RE: too much booty in the pants now.

food for today:

leftover starbucks drink

coffee

water

dinner is meatloaf at church and veggies

lunch today is probably leftover veggies

Gym after church dinner with ma
