Good morning :)
Today is a holiday here so DH is off work. We will probably just chill around the house and maybe knock out a few projects. Yesterday we went to his brothers house. His brother spent all afternoon smoking a whole turkey outside and when they brought it in and start cutting it up it smelled horrendous. Turns out it was rotten somehow. Poor guy. My eating ended up being off because I ran out of packed food and dinner ended up being about three hours later.
QOTD: I'm really torn between beef and chicken. We eat quite a lot of beef because we order a 1/4 or 1/2 cow every few months from a local farm. But I also agree that chicken is way more versatile, and is more what I grew up on.
Post-op three years, two months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - toast and PB
Lunch - leftover burger
Snack - oatmeal protein bites
Dinner - BBQ ribs (I love BBQ season!!)
Snack - pudding
All (extra) water and vits. I was a little low on water yesterday and we were outside more than usual.

Every season is bbq season in my eyes. I could eat ribs every day of my life.
Good morning! Busy weekend, walked several miles yesterday running around through the zoo, and I was breaking in new shoes (seemed like a good idea at the time!) so I plan on relaxing after work today, maybe doing a bit of gardening but nothing much else. DH and I will watch last nights episode of Westworld.
qotd: I'd have to choose team chicken on this one for everyone's same reason!
breakfast: coffee and Premier
lunch: 3oz honey garlic pork chop, 1/4 C cucumber slices with jalapeño ranch yogurt dip
dinner: were cleaning out the leftovers in the fridge and freezer, so it's between more pork, salsa verde chicken, or there might also be some turkey chili in the freezer. Shall I put it to a vote?

Surgeon: Dr. Kalyana Nandipati (Omaha, NE)
Mornin' All!
I'm at a hotel in the Chicago suburbs, getting ready to head into the city once rush hour traffic dies down. I have a PS consult this morning with Dr. Zachary. I know he's probably going to be my most expensive option (partly due to the fact he'll only operate in a hospital and has you spend at least one night there after the surgery), but I'm OK with that that piece of it. Plus he specializes in massive weight loss patients and has been at this for decades, so I am very interested in his opinion. I have one more consult (my 4th) scheduled in June, but depending on what happens today, I may cancel that one if I feel like I'm ready to make a choice. But...we'll see.
accountability would have been OK yesterday if I didn't have a piece of baklava after my Middle Eastern meal last night! (which i only ate half of (the meal, that is) - DH scarfed the rest of mine up before going to bed). Hopefully we can go to another Middle Eastern place for lunch today. I love that food!!!
QOTD: this isn't a dense protein, but if I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be Greek yogurt. I have it every morning for breakfast, sometimes have it as a snack. and sometimes when I get home at night and don't feel like cooking, I'll have...Greek yogurt. But, if I absolutely had to choose a dense protein to eat for every meal, I guess I'd do the chicken as well.
2 years 11 months out:
B: Greek yogurt (!) with one T chopped walnuts, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: ?? I'm hoping Middle Eastern food
AS: ?? (I have a protein bar with me if needed)
D: we'll probably be home by then but I'll probably be too tired to cook. So maybe leftover lunch (if we have some) or....Greek yogurt.
Good Morning! JB, I am glad that you made a big deal for Grim's display-he does amazing work and they were amazingly beautiful. Our weekend was pretty jam packed so it went by pretty quick. We did have a nice time picking cherries (pitting them to make pie isn't as fun-LOL).
Accountability: A few extra bites (nuts, banana, etc) over the weekend but I am back in weekday mode.
QOTD: I think it would a tough toss up between steak and chicken, unless you count cheese as dense protein?
Time since surgery: 3 years 9 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: ½ serving Bamba peanut snacks and Carbmaster cottage cheese
D: Pineapple/jalapeno chicken burger, spinach salad (Bleu cheese, walnuts and Skinnygirl raspberry vinaigrette dressing) and 1 squares dark chocolate
ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal and cherry "pie" made with 2 wonton wrappers three cherries filling (made with Splenda and corn starch) and a dollop of whipped cream
E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals:1226 Protein:109 Carbs:90 Fat:54
Have a great one!
good morning everyone!
So exciting for Grim to get to have his work on display...it is always exciting to get to show off your talent!
I had a great weekend...DH felt up to keeping Story at home for a few hours on Sunday while I got to go out shopping by myself for the first time in about 3 years!
I think he was trying to make up for not being able to do anything for me for Mother's day so I took full advantage and spend about 4 1/2 hours shopping LOL.
I wasn't planning on buying a ton of stuff but i found so many things on clearance that would have been a shame not to get...i got some super nice jeans that roll up to capri's for $9! I was so excited at the sizes I was fitting into as well. I am only at about 1/3 of my excess weight lost and was having a hard time seeing a difference until I got to try on some new clothes- it makes all the difference in how I am seeing myself.
QOTD: I guess I will join team chicken due to the versitility...but Turkey is pretty versatile too. I use it to replace beef a lot especially in ground form. I was never a huge red meat eater anyway so I don't think I would miss it much.
Morning: coffee & Caramel PP
B: 1/2c cottage cheese and a handful of blueberries
L: never-any chipotle chicken sausage
S: 10z cheddar cheese
D: not sure yet- something at mom's tonight again.
have a fantastic Monday everyone!
