Thanks Jo! Congratulations on your retirement! My MIL (who passed 3 years ago) was a quilter. She was very talented and I have many of her quilts and quilt wall hangings displayed proudly in our home. I wish I was so talented. It is a wonderful hobby. Good luck with your Etsy Store. I am sure you will do well! I have become a stay at home Mom for the first time a year and a hal*****o two teenage girls! (High school and middle school) funny how life works. I had worked since 15 before this! I am 51. My last job was an Executive Assistant with GE Capital for 18 years and the company has laid off the majority of their employees with selling off all their businesses. Moved their Headquarters out of CT as well. I could not find anything without commuting an hour and a half. Salaries much lower too. Applying as I see things but nothing has materialized. Maybe God's will. Been tough. Now I am home and while great for the family tough for me with the diet! I still finding my way. Also tough being a social person! Too much time to think and worry! Lol! I am the taxi driver for the girls. House is in great shape, good things about it too. Husband loves it. I am blessed we are ok for now.

Tornado was horrible. I lost my favorite plum tree that 2 tree men say can't be saved. Beautiful flowers that I was just admiring days before and telling everyone in house to look at it! Also another huge tree half down 2 estimates of $2k and $5k to get rid of.... blocking part of driveway so we have to do it. 3 neighbors to one side of us all have tree that went through rooves and unbelievable amount of uprooted trees in their yards so we were very lucky. Our house on edge of path we're tornado came through. Town in state of emergency still... utility trucks everywhere.

i stop rambling but thank you for the kind words. I would love to be down 25 but I still look "normal" weight really. Up to me to DO it to the finish! I am so happy my doctor suggested to me all those yes ago! Was the best thing for me.

A wonderful evening to you Jo!!

Congratulations!! I'm 9 years post RNY. I have a 15 pound regain that I tried for one year to get it off with very little success.

I re-joined Weigh****ches this May 2. (I'm a lifetime member but hadn't gone since my RNY). I decided I needed the accountability of someone weighing me weekly and staying for the motivational meetings. The new Smart Points program is really easy and bariatric friendly. There is a smart phone app to keep daily food diary records, scan barcodes and look up restaurant smart point info.

My goal is to lose the 15 pounds in 6 months. I still eat protein first and then mainly vegetables and fresh fruit. I stay on my bariatric food plan. I don't eat fast food and very little processed food.

For me, this is a good choice. I have no friends that have had bariatric surgery and the local bariatric group is made up of mostly those attending meetings mandatory before their bariatric surgery. No one as far out as me and I don't find the meeting very beneficial.

Best wishes getting back to goal.

Congratulations. OMG, you are gorgeous! I'm in MA and I didn't hear about tornadoes in CT but then again, I avoid the news. I'm sorry!

Ithank you! Love your profile pic, very sweet!

Iit was crazy! Never imagined tornado would hit here! Over the years you hear tornado watches but never materialized, this one hit. They say damage was bigger then hurricane Sandy. Very sad will be years before some areas look better.
