What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
I need to get my butt in gear and head to a coffee place to work for a couple of hours. At 11:00-ish I'm talking to a pre-op group. I usually do this once a month, but last month I was at a plastic surgery consult in Chicago, so it feels like it's been forever! Massage later on this afternoon - YAY! Sunday we head back down to Chicago because I have another consult on Monday morning - with the great Dr. Zachary. He's with the Univ of Chicago and the only person I can find in the Chicago area who specializes in massive weight loss patients, believe it or not (although there are a few others who do truckloads of them - as in over half their practice). If nothing else, I'm curious to find out what he thinks. He's been at this for 40 years - practically longer than some of the others have been alive!
accountability was OK but not great yesterday (that fattening half-salad was hard to work around - thank God it's gone!), but my weight is down a pound this morning - even though I had two mugs of instant miso soup last night (sodium kills me - I blow up like a balloon). Very odd - but I'll take it!
QOTD: when I was about 4 or 5, I wanted a puppet I spotted in the checkout line at the grocery store. My mother said I couldn't have it, so I stuck it under my shirt. She caught me playing with it when we got home, so she took me ...and it...back to the store and made me apologize to the manager. That was the first and last time I have taken anything!

L: probably just a protein bar since I don't have much time to eat
AS: yogurt or a piece of protein pumpkin pie
D: half a California roll made with brown rice - or chili
I was looking for a picture and spotted this. I assumed this was taken when I was a few pounds lighter than I am now (my lowest was 138), but no - I was 170 that month! Over 20 lbs heavier than I am now! This proves that things shift around a bit and your face sort of fills back out once you've been in maintenance for awhile. I guess I look about the same now (it's always hard for me to judge) - but I can't believe I was 170 here! (I am 5'6")
thanks! I have a large frame, so I can carry more weight than some people my height, but I'm still surprised I looked that lean at 170. I got down to 138 at one time and was really starting to look bad. I think my current range (145-150) is probably the best for me, but still, I loved seeing the 130s on the scale while they lasted!
Good morning! Actually slept for 3hrs at a time through the night, so some progress there.
Yesterday I added some dry milk to my chicken broth, probly won't do that again as it really didn't help taste and boosted protein only a bit. Ended up with 422 calories, 71 protein, 30 carbs, 5 fat.
B jello made with unsweetened almond milk
L broth and 1/2 premier shake
D broth rest of shake
Snacks jello, popsicles, Crystal light, hot tea.
QOTD yep on my 12th bday younger sister and i were in the Brandeis store in Lincoln and I decided that some costume jewellery rings were just what my 5 young siblings needed, lol. Store detective caught me and we had to wait until my mom came for us. I remember my sister cried the entire time. She was 10. Needless to say, I didn't get a birthday party or gifts that year.

accountability: so many regrets. I feel like it's just been one of those weeks. Why do hormonal fluctuations turn me into a bottomless pit?!
qotd: I stole a pack of fruit stripe gum once when I was really little because my mom wouldn't buy it for me. I got into so much trouble when she found out. I think that was the first time in my life that I can remember really being in trouble and feeling like I did something bad.

I am so happy it is friday but I am also not looking forward to the crappy weather forecast for this weekend. I REALLY need to mow my lawn and haven't been home earlier than 7:30pm all week so I am hoping there will be a lapse in the rain/storms for enough time for me to get that done...otherwise my yard is literally going to turn into a jungle by the next opportunity I get to mow.
QOTD: I know I used to steal things as a kid just because I wanted them and didn't have money to pay. they were usually costume jewelry, like earrings, and one time I stole a little plastic toy frog. I never got caught and that's probably why I kept doing it. I haven't done it since I was in high school because well I have a job lol...and because it's stupid.
Morning: coffee w/ half caramel PP (I may have the other half and another cup of coffee later depending how I am feeling)
