I thought your NZ on the post yesterday was a typo - are you from New Zealand?

Hi Guys, I do live in New Zealand... I grew up in Newburyport, MA and spent summers in Chatham on the Cape with my grandparents. Prior to moving to NZ (I am lazy, thus the abbreviation) we were living in Maine.

When we moved to NZ we were up in the Far North on the North Island. (Subtropical) Two years ago we moved to Oamaru for my husbands job. Oamaru is nearly to the bottom of the South Island. (Not at all subtropical) Talk about switch of climates!

If I can figure out how to post photos I will put them up! I couldn't figure out how to do it on my phone... I apologise if I have done this wrong!

Have fun,

mathea

Ooops! Hit submit before I typed in the descriptions.

The bridge photo is over part of Lake Tekapo a glacial lake in the Southern Alps and the water is that extraordinary blue due to rock flour.

the photos went out of order...

the next is a Moeraki Boulder. This is the beach that we often go to and they have concretions all over the beach. They are all spherical and once broken resemble honeycomb

the next is my 13yo at Lake Tekapo freezing his feet!

concretion/Moeraki boulder coming out of the hill a couple more big storms and that one will be on the beach

My parents and son at Moeraki

Nugget Point Light: The Catlans

DH and I walking the Hooker Valley Trail at Aoraki/Mount Cook (Mount Cook is the summit that Sir Edmund Hillary practiced on for his Everest climb)

My son and I at the Clay Cliffs... not far from Mount Cook and it feels like you are in a galaxy far, far away there!

Beautiful pictures! I'm thinking about New Zealand for a trip next year -- the long flight will be much easier now:-)
