A few years ago, an Italian friend of mine sent me a few jars of incredible honey. These were monofloral honeys of various different (amazing, fragrant) types. I read an article about how they were produced. The beekeeper would load the hives into a truck in the night, and drive to wherever the next flowering plant was just blooming. Once that bloom was over, he would load up the bees, again at night, and drive them to wherever the next beautiful flowers were blooming. I guess in between he would remove the honey, so as to keep it monofloral. I found that interesting, having only been familiar with stationary beekeeping.

We have lots of mobile bees here. A good portion of NZ's economy is agricultural and bees play a huge role. We have bees that travel and get set up in different orchards to pollinate. I used to live in amongst 3 kiwi groves, several orange orchards, and our backyard was a feijoa orchard. I loved watching the hives!

I just listened to a podcast (now I can't remember which one...) that featured a story about a bee farm heist! A gang of criminals literally stole an entire farm of bees in the night. Insane story.

5 years ago, I was just starting a challenging new job. I was super excited about my career, but otherwise miserable about my health and appearance. I was struggling with controlling my diabetes, and was unable to enjoy life. I pretty much went to work, and then went directly home each day. Fast forward to today. Since my surgery on 1/31/18, I've lost over 70 lbs, and my diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol have all disappeared. I am so much more active, and am really participating in life!

MS. Hard boiled egg

L. 2 oz Turkey, light string cheese

My morning appointment went super fast so instead of an all day thing it was like an hour thing. Although they had some bad news for me. Apparently getting a brand new model of a car cam be sketchy as far as recalls go. So it needs to go in again next week and that -will- be all day. Ugh.

JB I am so jealous of your exploring MA a little yesterday. I grew up in Marlborough and spent my summers on the Cape. I wish I could visit and just explore without having to visit family! Enjoy all the time off you have.

Qotd: 5 years ago, I was a newlywed. My mom was still alive and we were waiting on my new nephew to be born. I was also trying the Nutrisystem diet because when I had gotten married I had been at my heaviest and I was desperate.

Accountability: Because I ended up being home more yesterday than I thought I tried 1oz of canned chicken and a tsp of light miracle whip for lunch. It was great. I was even able to fini**** Then for a snack and dinner I split 1.75oz of turkey deli meat and a laughing cow light wedge. So plain, but completely amazing. I am going to try my dietitians suggested meal plan, but no way is it actually all happening.

Bf: 1 scrambled egg

MS: 1/4 cup cottage cheese

L: 2oz tuna, 1tsp miracle whip

AS: 4oz bone broth

D: 2oz canned chicken, laughing cow wedge, 1/4 cup sweet potato with beneprotein
