sorry to hear about all this - especially being sick! I've spent the night at airports as well - airlines typically don't give vouchers if the delay or cancellation is weather-related, so I've spent a couple of nights sleeping on an airport floor, too. UGH! That is the worst!! I hope she eventually made it home!!

She was a trooper. She got herself a neck pillow and slept on the floor. She said surprisingly she got 5 hours of sleep and did OK. Super happy to have her home for the summer.

Oh my, Sheila, what a nightmare about trying to get your daughter home! And I'm so sorry you got sick on the way home from the airport. I sure hope you feel better today and that DD gets home safely!

Another good day yesterday. Today I am supposed to start stage 3 but I won't be home until later this evening and I would rather not try new things until I am safely home so dinner it is.... although I am up early enough maybe I'll try cottage cheese for breakfast.

Qotd: I love reading. And will read just about anything except romance and horror. Mostly I gravitate toward sci-fi and fantasy. But historical true crime has been creeping in lately and I read a lot of medical journals. Last night I even read about a possible find of the cause of PCOS which may lead to a cure! Brand new development but it actually sounded promising... I am cautiously optimistic. I also read fast so I am often called upon to read kids books for a friend to help figure out appropriateness. Sometimes that is surprisingly enjoyable.

Accountability: Finally exceeded my water goal yesterday! 84oz. That is closer to what I was getting pre surgery.

Bf: 1/3 premier protein, 2oz cottage cheese or Siggi's yogurt and 6 grams PB fit

L: 1/3 premier protein, 4oz chicken bone broth

D: 1/3 premier protein, a couple tiny bites of canned chicken with a hint of mayo, 4oz butternut squash soup

S: sugar free chocolate pudding or a creamy protein jello cup, 2oz 1%milk, a bite of a piece of string cheese.

About 420 calories.... we'll see how it goes!

Good morning! There are a few train cars that are full of old railroad ties on fire near my work right now and man it is really STINKY! Like - oil, tar, rubber, plastic black smoke burning yuck. I'm sure it's toxic as well, lovely!

There are chickens swinging all over the place for ya, JB!!

Accountability - awesome - I think I have my head in the game 100%. Not sure what I was thinking there for these last few months, they have been pretty crazy!

QOTD - Reading tends to put me to sleep honestly. I have read Jane Austin, Charles Dickens and other classics repeatedly over the years, but my true favorite books to read or rather devour have always been Cookbooks - since I was very little. I remember always pouring over my mom's Betty Crocker and Julia Child's cookbooks. I have quite a collection and I love everyone single of them!!

17mo post op - 168.9 - yay!

b- coffee x 2, tea, HB eggs

l-tuna w/mayo + balsamic, a few SF bread and butter pickles

d-chicken breast w/small lettuce salad

v/l - on track

Have a wonderful day everyone!

I used to be a real cookbook reader, too! I don't so much anymore, but I used to have them stacked on my nightstand along with my other books! My mom once gave me her 1950s era Goodhousekeeping cookbook that she got as a wedding gift - that one was a real treat!

Oops, forgot the QOTD. Love historical fictions.

But I just finished I'll be gone in the dark about the Golden State Killer (because they just captured him). Very interesting and obviously non fiction.

Im also reading "Educated". It's a memoir and it breaks your heart. A lot like Glass Castle.

Morning and Happy Wednesday. I have a ton of doctor appointments today, so I'm only working a half day in the office. I'm seeing my surgeon since my gastroenterologist punted me back to him, the endo and orthopedic surgeon. I have tendonitis in my elbow and trigger finger in my left hand, so it looks like I'm going to get a crap ton of cortisone. Times like this I really miss NSAIDs.

JBQOTD: Historical fiction for the win. Some of my favorites: Loving Frank (I'm a Frank Lloyd Wright geek); The Paris Wife (although that book got my book club going down an Ernest Hemingway path that I didn't love) and Devil in the White City.

My plan:

B: Bacon

L: Probably nothing. My first appointment is at 1 and the hospital is about 40 minutes away, so I'll be leaving my office at 12. I have appointments all the way to 3:30 (If any one of my doctors is late, the whole schedule is screwed) so I'm going with nothing.

D: Maybe grilled Carne Asada. I was planning on a happy hour with some former co-workers in downtown LA, but one of my friends has a huge deadline and said the thought of leaving work was stressing him out. Also, I don't know that I'll be able to work out if I get the injections I'm expecting, so I should have time to grill. If not, I have no idea.

S: Latte probably between my first and second appointments. The hospital has both a starbucks and a coffee bean & tea leaf, so I'll have options

E: If I feel up to it, I'll spin. TRX or a weight class is out

Devil in White City was a fantastic read! One of the few of that genre I have gone back and re read.
