Good morning!

Yesterday I didn't get to the gym, instead I did yard work. There's an old section of the yard that was used as a temporary pin for our dogs then, it's not used anymore, but it was pretty much abandoned. Big, open area. I cleaned it out, chopped down annoying trees coming up, ate up the weeds with the weed eater, mulched and filled any big dips with soil. Then I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos, and squash. I like that its in the old dog pin, since I can close it off to my dogs that I know would stomp through it with their big, clumsy feet.

An issue I did discover was that one of the drainage pipes from the gutter wasn't draining correctly and likely hadn't been for years. The ground all under that area in the corner of that home caves in. It's a large sink hole! I'm filling it with gravel and soil to level it off and have to get the drainage pipe fixed.

QOTD: I like fantasy books *******so love time-traveling themes!

Good morning :)

Puppies are getting their nails and paws done today -- we found someone that lives nearby and she comes to our house. It is so much cheaper than a full groom for the two of them. Later we are picking up a used bookcase to try and organize some of things we store in our sunroom. Each winter it becomes a dumping ground because it is too cold to use. Then in the spring I spend weeks trying to tidy and clean it up. It would be nice if that didn't happen next year.

QOTD: I love magical, fantasy books (e.g. Harry Potter) and romance novels because I find them lighter to read, especially when I'm reading a lot of academic articles for school. However, right now I've been reading a lot of non-fiction and baby books. I'm reading a book about a big rural commune with an emphasis on midwives and natural births.

Post-op three years, two months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - toast and PB

Lunch - leftover burger

Snack - pepperoni and melty cheese

Dinner - chicken and veg

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

I hope the dream job happens! I had lunch with my former team yesterday and found out that the woman I gave the recommendation for received and accepted a job offer for what sounds like a dream job. I am so happy for her!

QOTD: I LOVE to read. I tend to like mystery or psychological fiction (Jodi Picoult) when I don't have a specific recommendation. I don't usually like science fiction or magical books, but I did love the Harry Potter series. I like historical fiction and sometimes biographies if they read like a story. I don't like dry nonfiction as it makes me feel like I am in school (LOL).

2 Years, 1.5 months post-op

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Prosciutto and mozzarella stick (while on the road - my appointment is 1.5 hours away)

D: leftover halibut (I still haven't gotten to it)

Good Morning Julia and Menu Family!

Definitely swinging chickens for you, Julia. (Where did that expression come from anyway? Poor chickens!)

Saralisa found out yesterday that she didn't get the library job that she applied for. I don't understand why she didn't get it, she would be perfect for it! Oh well, their loss! Hopefully something better is waiting out there for her.

QOTD: I love dog books like "A Dog's Purpose" and I enjoy inspirational books like Chicken Soup for the Soul. I LOVE the Harry Potter books. We also read a lot of various books in Saralisa's book club.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 132, Calories - 1,505, Carbs - 167.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: chicken & rice

D: Healthy Choice turkey meal

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Oh no, I am sorry to hear that Saralisa didn't get the job. Give her a hug from me and tell her they are the ones missing out and for sure there is something better out there for her.

Sorry about the job for Saralisa. But I also believe in faith. It wasn't meant to be and something much better will come along.
