What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
morning everyone!
We've had off and on thunderstorms for the past 2+ days. Some of the thunder actually woke me up...which is weird because I usually sleep better during storms, but these ones shook the whole house!
I have a feeling I am going to have to mow the yard this weekend...DH is definitely not up for it yet and it is going to need it...we've lived in this house for almost 2 years now and I have never once mowed the yard. in fact I haven't mowed any lawn since I was about 12 years old LOL. That's the one thing I exclusively assign to DH. I guess it's time for me to suck it up haha.
QOTD: In the spring and summer I love being outside...If I have a full day off with my family, I love going to the Zoo, or in the summer time we go to the Renaissance faire a few times. If the weather is not so great, I'd love to be able to spend a day in my studio just getting immersed in a painting. That has not happened since I had Story though...not easy to lose a day painting when you have a 3 year old demanding your attention every 30 seconds.
Morning: coffee w/ half caramel PP
B: 2 chicken b-fast sausages
L: cheesy chicken enchilada soup with extra chicken pieces added for more substance/protein.
D: Crab salad w/peas
S: Greek L&F yogurt
Enjoy your day everyone!

Good morning! All my best mojo headed your way JB! Hope everything goes really well tomorrow so you can enjoy your summer! I am still trying to make up for not having any time at home this weekend. I usually make sure I have time to recharge and prepare for the week, but that didn't happen... I feel like I'm winging it and I'm not doing a very good job! I've forgotten things everyday that I really needed and I'm running ragged, ugh!
Accountability - Didn't eat much yesterday. I was too tired to cook dinner so I ate a handful of almonds instead.
QOTD - My ideal day would probably include Starbucks, a beautiful nature hike, shopping and Netflix! I am an introvert, but not a bookworm - I'm a very visual person. I need a mix of activity with plenty of chill time. I'm finding our many adventures lately to be really fun. I think it's all good if balanced.

Accountability? Hahahaha. I did map what I walked in NYC yesterday and it was 7 miles. At one point I walked from 14th street to 81st Street to meet my nephew. #urbanhiking Scale was the same this AM.
Someone said to me recently "Memories over macros" I believe that can be true in maintenance. We can pick and choose days we want to eat differently. We just can't fool ourselves and make it everyday. Not everyday is a celebration. Not every celebration requires different eating. If you are losing- "be a Machine"
Today I have my big annual Board Meeting. I think I mentioned- I let a vegan plan it and it's a carbfest. Originally I thought- one meal, no biggie... oh no. Biggie. Basically rice, potatoes, and pasta. You are a vegan! Where the hell are the veggies? One salad. I asked if she could ask the chef to just make me a plate of cooked veggies based on my basil allergy. We will see. Ugh.
QOTD: I like an adventure. NYC urban hiking is a fave. Includes occasional stops at Starbucks. And the beach. If I'm having quiet time it's better at the beach.
Food?
meat- veg- coffee and protein drink on way to dinner. Then all bets are off as to what will happen. I may eat nothing. Being at an Italian restaurant and being deathly allergic to Basil is a good excuse.
Emergency Protein bar in purse.

Morning all. Can't wait to hear about the outcome of your job news tomorrow, Julia. Layla has respectfully declined to be swung again, but I am still keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
Had a super busy weekend. I had house guests all weekend, and we had a great time running around town. I had a BBQ with friends in my backyard on Saturday night, and a 5k walk on Sunday. It was all a good time.
Today I have labs in preparation for an infusion tomorrow. It is the last of a series of 6 over the past 3 years. The infusion is generally to prevent loss of bone density, but in my case is to reduce the risk of a reoccurrence of my breast cancer. It only takes about a 1/2 hour and is pretty much a non-event.
QOTD: Every Thursday, two friends and I have an afternoon adventure. We take turns planning them. In the past we have visited unusual nurseries, explored various neighborhoods in Portland or small towns close by. Last week we took a road trip to a new resort to check it out and have lunch. This Thursday we are going to the Zoo. Future plans include visiting the Chinese Garden, the Japanese Garden, the art museum and the science museum. It has been super fun and is giving us a chance to play tourist in our own town.
I have been eating like a crazy person, so I am shutting it down today. My menu is super restricted, but it is what I need to do. Plus, I have a bunch of protein that needs to be used.
3 years, 6 months post-op:
B: Egg Beaters, bacon and lite mozzarella omelet
S: 2 oz deli roast beef
L: chicken thigh
S: 4 oz prawns
D: 5 oz grilled halibut, protein water
Totals: calories 656, carbs 4, protein 110
Have a great day everyone.
