thanks! I like it, too. It was my favorite of the four or five we drove yesterday. DH preferred a 2015 Honda Accord - but I think it was mostly because he loved the exterior color and the dashboard layout. I agree - they were really sharp - but I felt like I was sitting too low in the car, which made me feel like I had less control of it than I did the Civic. And although the dashboard layout looked great, I found it confusing. We had to check the manual to see how to work some of the controls, since it wasn't very intuitive. The Civic's dashboard was very easy. I personally thought comfort and ease of use was more important than look and color - and besides, I'll be the primary driver of this car since he was the one who got a "new" car the last time we bought one (I say "new" because we always buy one that's two or three years old (with low mileage) and then keep them *forever*....)
Happy Mother's Day weekenders! I hope that it is a lovely day whether or not you are able to be with your mother or your kids. Also a big shout out to the other Moms of critters with fur and feathers!
I spent yesterday with my Mom and my wife treating my Mom to a special day. We took her to Longwood Gardens and we walked around the grounds and the Conservatory for about 4 hours. I certainly got in my steps for the day! Then we took her on a surprise trip to Trader Joe's. She loves the treats that we bring her from TJs when we visit, but she had never been there. She was completely overwhelmed but managed to go home with a bag of goodies! We also ran into friends of hers from church while in line even though we were more than an hour from her house. She was amazed that they drive the hour to shop at TJs. We ate lunch at Panera and I had a cup of black bean soup and a half-size chicken Caesar salad. Not the best protein but I did manage to resist all the bread and pastries. Mom was very pleased with her day, which of course is the whole point!
It was a pleasant day but very tiring to orchestrate and more than 6 hours of driving in heavy traffic. I was going to work some OT today but instead I just slept in late and played with my furry kids. We have a special event this afternoon, but otherwise I'm just going to rest up for the week ahead.
QOTD: I'm not really into organized sports although I do enjoy watching soccer on TV and live. It doesn't happen very often though.

I get that black bean soup a lot when I'm at Panera - that, or the turkey chili. Both are great and pretty filling!
before we got our own Trader Joe's (maybe 12 years ago?), we used to have to drive down to Arlington Hts, IL to go to one - about 90 miles away. Granted, we only went when we had other things to do in the Chicago area.....
I feel lucky that we are only about a 20-30 minute drive (depends on the time of day) from a TJs. We pass lots of stores, including 2 Whole Foods, a Wegmans and a Harris Teeter to get there! I am a die hard TJs customer for most things. Their prices and quality keep me coming back even though the traffic can be a bear!
