PRE-OP FOOD RUT
Hi.
I'm currently prepping for surgery ... basically waiting to be submitted to insurance.
I've been losing about 1-2 pounds a week during this prep stage. But last month I began to stall out and I'm in a bit of a food rut.
Nothing really sounds good. I'm just doing a lot of protein shakes and plain chicken and vegetables. I'm never really satisfied though and I find myself making many trips into the kitchen looking for something/anything else!
I'd love some ideas to get out of this rut --- snacks, lunch and dinner ideas?!?
Thanks!
I am 10 years post op. I get into food rut every month or so. On top of WLS long term diet - I deal with food allergies, intolerances. That makes it "an interesting" twist to already limited diet. But I manage. When I am shopping iilook to find interesting low carb sauces and marinates. I.e - today in Costco I found ginger dressing/marinade. I only used a little bit and saute chicken strips and some veggies in that. We loved it.
There are a lot of great websites for nice protein forward dishes. Keto, Paleo, low carb, etc. Just Google it and you can see more than you wish to see.

Mix up your protein. Salmon, pork loin, shrimp, steak. You can also try different marinades, seasoning, sauces.
