Yes but he was a two termer. Not fair!

I work with with a bunch of people that were Bush babies. The first Bush. And while I may envy their age I definitely feel lucky to grow up in the era I did.

I really dreaded 30 and thought that I was ready for the grave...life was over. For me, life has only gotten better since then. I am finally old enough to make my own decisions and tell the rest of the world to f-off. I am in better shape mentally and physically at 51 than I was even in my early 20s, so real life is possible even as you get older!

My trend has generally been to start each decade in a relative "good place" and then witness things slowly unravel. I guess RNY has helped me buck that trend although I still have a couple of years to mess it up. Lol.

Seriously though I really appreciate your perspective. Thank you.

Good morning! The weekend finally - so happy!

qotd: birthdays are a big deal in my family. We do a big dinner and dessert (which is always a struggle for me). On my husband's side is another story. The family dynamics are very different and he's always been the black sheep since he's an only child and his mother remarried when he was grown and out of the house. So I have married myself into black sheep status as a result. I'm ok with that, but my heart hurts for hubby because we are always forced to show up for everyone else's birthday dinner, but when one of our birth anniversaries rolls around it is allllllways conveniently overlooked. He says he's ok with it but I do think that emotionally it hurts him, especially since his mom doesn't seem to have much time for him. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

My 2 week checkup went really great yesterday! I am right on target and the only concern is a slight rash on my torso. But it isn't near the incisions and it doesn't appear to be from anything used during surgery. I am not too worried cause it is in spots where I have gotten rashes before.

Qotd: Birthdays are a really big deal for me. My mom always made sure we felt celebrated and special on our big days. Now my husband and I go over the top for eachother. He has made me a cake every year, even learning to use low calorie and healthy baking methods on years when I have been dieting. I am basically a 35 year old big kid so I still get excited for birthdays and holidays.

Accountability: Calories again were lower yesterday. I really couldn't stand the pureed split pea soup a second night so I only managed 2 oz. It is so bad I am getting rid of the rest and doing a different soup tonight. Blechy!

I make it. It's from theworldaccording to eggface blog. Early out I divided it into more servings than it called for 6 instead of 4 cause I couldn't eat that much.
