Morning weekenders!!

Its been an insanely busy week, and the weekend is set to be the same!

this morning we have a 10km walk for the dementia society. Looks like we ended up with great weather. And it's always a great event.

Then,my nephew is turning 1! So we are having an over the top party for the afternoon to celebrate the little man!

my in laws are in town, and tomorrow morning I'm hosting a mother's day brunch! Phew! Not sure how it's all going to come together!

What are you all up to today?

qotd: are birthdays a big deal for you and your family? They arent typically for mine, but we have a lot of milestone birthdays coming up, so they seem to be a bigger thing now. Also, having a baby around gives everyone a reason to be silly and have fun, which I'm loving.

menu:

no idea, coffee and protein shake to kick things off. Everything else is a bit up in the air!

have a good one!

Good morning! We have a walk for our local Alzheimer's support organization this morning as well. Unfortunately for us, it will be raining. This afternoon I am driving to the area where I used to live to participate in limo club-hopping for DD's 30th Birthday. I'm not really excited about it but she is and that is what counts!

QOTD: Generally birthdays are a big deal in our family, except for mine. I chose not to celebrate for a number of years because it coincided with a crisis my oldest DD had leading to her death from cancer. Though I decided to celebrate again a few years ago, no one remembers it anymore (especially not DH with Alzheimer's). But this weekend we will be celebrating DD's 30th all weekend (she is coming back to our house with me tomorrow for celebrations with additional family).

2 Years, 1.5 months post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna salad with pickles and cottage cheese

D: No idea, but will try for a protein based meal

S: protein bar?

Good Morning Erin & Menu Family!

Had my post all written and then lost internet and it disappeared. Trying again.

I am basking in having Saralisa back home and the dogs are so happy. Tomorrow after church Saralisa and I are going to the movie Coco. I was so pleased that she asked me to go to it with her! I'm happy she is willing to do things with her old mom!

QOTD: I usually go all out for Saralisa's birthday and Christmas (which are close together). Since she is my only child I can afford to spoil her!

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana

L: ham & cheese on 45 calorie bread

D: cheesy chicken

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

E: walking Blossom

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Morning weekenders!! I did my run, ate and am about to shower and dress. I'm hoping to work in the yard today but the weather looks questionable.

Ive been smiling on the inside since last night over something small- but it meant a lot to me. I took the kids shopping, my son was buying clothes in Express. The clerk rang us up and he said to me- next time you'll have to come and shop for yourself! First thought in my head was I don't fit anything here. But I'm sure I do-- just can't let go of all the years of being relegated to two stores to shop in. And when we went to dinner I ordered a salad from the 'light menu'. The waitress said- I knew it was for the Mom, it's the tiny Moms who always order the salads. Those comments made me feel really good, especially since I spend most of my thoughts persecuting myself for not doing better.

Qotd: I wouldn't call them a big deal- we let the b-day person pick what they want to do/have/eat for the day. I prefer to spend more on birthdays than Christmas since it's spread out throughout the year vs concentrated in one day.

212 today, 3 years out

m1: egg, ham & bologna, cheese stick

m2: 1/2 Belgian waffle

m3: ?? Maybe tuna

m4: kids want homemade nachos. Not sure what I'll do

Good morning! It's a pretty rainy day here today, which I can enjoy. Yesterday we went on a day trip to a giant aquarium, botanical gardens, and to visit my uncle who lives down in the Ozarks. The aquarium was absolutely stunning with incredible exhibits. I was worried because I always used to eat constantly on road trips, but I didn't crave anything like I did before. Took my food in my little bag and packed healthy snacks for my grandma since she's very much a snacker. I didn't end up eating the fish I had been craving, my uncle had grilled us boneless pork ribs so I had some of that with no sauce.

Also, I'm about done with purses lol. They are THE most annoying thing on a trip. I did a backpack for yesterday and while it did the trip, it was inconvenient for certain items. I've ordered an adorable fanny pack. I vote we bring them back and make them work, free our hands!

QOTD: My own has never been. I try to always do something sweet for family and friends. About the only thing I looked forward to on my birthday was cake and ice cream. No cake, or ice cream this year, but I will indulge in one thing. I will buy a single French Macaron from a bakery downtown. They are my favorite dessert and actually much better calorie and sugar wise than even a small cupcake! I have that day planned around the macaron already food wise. Is that silly to have made it so far in advance? I'm an August baby, after all. Though, we will see what my diet has to look like around that time. With any luck, I'll be getting my hanging stomach removed by the end of August. Don't know if I need to eat a certain way for awhile sort of like I did for the VSG.
