Good morning :)

I'm meeting DH for lunch today and then going to the store to buy some coffee that's on sale for my mom. I saw the OB doctor yesterday and baby is measuring right on schedule and 50th percentile for all their measurements. I'm quite pleased about this because my family has a tendency towards large babies -- the winner being my cousin at 11.5 pounds.

QOTD: hmm... I'm not very good at giving or receiving compliments -- it makes me awkward lol. The OB has off-handedly given me two - one she said I had done really well losing and maintaining after surgery, and two she said my loose skin was not bad at all. Another was DH saying how much he liked that I'm super thrifty and that he likes how I've been buying/planning for the baby. I've maybe spent $200-300 so far and the nursery is ready, I have clothes, and diapers. Lots of things are secondhand or sales/coupons.

Post-op three years, two months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - toast and PB

Lunch - tbd

Snack - Greek yogurt

Dinner - cheesy chicken

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

My son had beautiful clothes throughout childhood that were bought cheap by my MIL. He was stylin!

Mornin'!

I found out last night that my best friend from middle/high school has glioblastoma. Her sister died of it five years ago, at age 52. This is the same kind of cancer that John McCain has. It's a fairly rare cancer, and they don't think it's genetic, so this was a real shock (well, it would have been a real shock regardless). I cannot even imagine being delivered that kind of news. Prognosis on it is poor, although there are more long-term (5+ years) survivors of it than there were a few years ago, so hopefully she'll be one of them. Still, I can't imagine finding out that I had something like that - that would be horrible!!

Went over on calories yesterday and had a high-sodium meal (fajita salad at lunch), so my weight is up a half pound this morning. Feeling like a blimp. We have dinner out with friends tonight and lunch out (friends again!) tomorrow. So it'll be an appetizer tonight. Tomorrow we'll be at a Chinese place - I should be able to do low-carb, low-ish calories there, but ALL THAT SODIUM. Yikes. Not looking forward to this..(well, being with the people, yes, but...)

QOTD: boy, nothing is coming to mind - I'll have to come back and edit this later!

B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade blueberry/blackberry sauce

MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax vanilla shake

L: turkey slices and string cheese

AS: L&F yogurt - maybe with some bran cereal (hoping to keep semi-full today so I won't overdo it at the restaurant tonight!)

D: just checked the menu (below). Maybe the brisket tacos (sans tortillas) or the brisket chili

My heart breaks when I hear about glioblastoma. That's how my brother died when he was 47. The whole thing was only 7 months. Now I'm kinda worried knowing that two siblings got it. I remember at the time I asked the Dr because honestly I was worried about my kids and he said it's not hereditary or genetic. Hang tough. It's a hard road.

that's why this was so surprising - because I read they don't think it's hereditary. So it's *really* weird that two siblings would get the same (rare, I might add) cancer. I'm sorry about your brother. That would be horrible.

I think sometimes they say something isn't hereditary and really mean that they don't know (science hasn't figured it out yet). Just IMO.

So sorry to hear about your friend.
