Good morning everyone. It's Friday!!!! What a long week... phew!

This morning I am sitting here sipping on my first "bullet-proof coffee". Has anyone else tried this? It is coffee mixed with coconut oil and butter. It makes the coffee super creamy and also boosts the fat to keep you satiated. It's okay... I think it will take some getting used to. I am not used to feeling "oily" when I drink coffee, but it does taste pretty good! TBD if this is how I will drink it every day, or just occasionally... Also, I am really having a hard time hitting my protein goals ever since I stopped adding protein to my coffee, so I might go back to that a few times a week.

Accountability: Mostly good, but as you can imagine after being up all night, I was pretty exhausted when I got home, so Grim was kind enough to just heat me some low carb chicken nuggets (because even that was too hard, haha).

QOTD: Tell us about a recent compliment you received! It doesn't have to be about weight loss. I have a few... First, as I am transitioning out of my job, I am saying goodbye to a lot of people who are saying such kind things about me and my work, so that has been a very nice confidence boost. And yesterday a co-worker (who does not know about my surgery) and I were chatting about all the treats in the school for Teacher Appreciation Week, and she told me I don't need to worry because I am "tiny". TINY!

Have a wonderful day and a fantastic weekend!

Happy Friday menu folks and an early Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, whether your kids are human or furry! Tomorrow we are taking my Mom to Longwood Gardens for the day, or at least a few hours. It is supposed to be 90 with afternoon thundershowers so we may head out after a few hours. My Mom is familiar with Trader Joe's because we kids bring her things from our local stores but she has never been to one so that may be our afternoon adventure.

That will take our Saturday and Sunday will be a few hours of OT, hopefully a swim, a Mother's Day High Tea and cleaning to get ready for surgery on Friday. A full weekend.

Today I am teleworking and hope to get out for a nice walk at lunch. I'd like to get in a swim but that may not happen.

QOTD: Since I've lost weight I've tried to buy my new clothes in more bright colors and less black and navy. I often get compliments on my colorful clothes now.

Menu:

Breakfast: ham

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, cantaloupe, cashews

Lunch: chicken breast, baby carrots

Snack: protein shake, turkey breast, apple, almonds

Dinner: shrimp

Exercise: long walk at lunch

JB, I forgot to ask, when is your last day? Have you heard any more about your new job? All the best in your transition!

Last day is Tuesday! But honestly, yesterday was the last busy day real work day, I'm coasting for the next few days and just doing checkouts with my staff and organizing files...

No news, yet! The job I'm hoping for is not open yet, but I'm getting communication from the hiring manager that if it opens (likely next week), it's mine. So that's encouraging, but it causes me to hope for another person to get fired, which puts me in an uncomfortable place... I do have a second interview this morning but I don't think it's a job I want. We'll see...

Good morning! Half day at work today and then my mom will be in town--I'm taking her to an outdoor rock concert/festival today for mother's day. The headlining band is Five Finger Death Punch, and Shinedown, Starset, Bad Wolves (they have a really awesome cover of the Cranberries "Zombies" on the radio right now), and a few more area local rock bands. 5FDP is my moms favorite, and she loves the Zombies cover, and I love Shinedown and Starset, so it will be fun!

QotD: the most recent compliment I've had was from Karen, who told me I had pretty eyes! I was momentarily flustered and flattered lol

Menu is kind of up in the air, but I want to front-load protein since I'm not sure there will be a lot of GOOD options for me at the show (fair/vendor food truck kind of stuff)

breakfast: usual coffee with Premier, 2 oz cubes ham, 1 scrambled egg with cheese

Lunch: turkey meatballs with marinara

I might have another protein shake on the way to the show, otherwise it's up in the air from there.

photo is my mama and me, on my wedding day in October 2016, in honor of mother's day, since I may not be on over the weekend. My mom had RNY in 2002, has maintained with just a bit of regain that she is currently working off, and a huge role model for me in this process!
