Special K crustless Quiche - Any phases these are good for?
Here's a link to the label. I'm just starting my 2-weeks pre-op diet and trying to plan out if these will be of any use to me in some later phases, or if I should have my husband make them quietly disappear.

I wouldn't buy too much of any one food. Your tastes may change. In my case "fake food" tasted extra fake and it just didn't go down well.
We already have them in the house from before. Not looking to stock up, just wondering if they need to be removed during this huge pre-operative PURGE I'm doing on my pantry/freezer, etc.

Great question. I think you should throw them away; instead, start getting in the mindset of not eating food just because you paid for it. Only healthy food that supports your weight loss goals should be consumed. Since surgery, I've become very picky about what I put in my mouth. Good luck!

I love this! It's a hard mindset to get out of but I'm working on it every day.

Thanks for commenting on that. Throwing away food is such a taboo because of the way I was raised. I actually made that a personal goal while I was on vacation last week. It was right before my liquid diet started, so I did allow myself to enjoy things, but I also threw away the rest when I was finished. (Instead of picking for a while, or instead of saving it to enjoy later because I just can't imagine not eating more, etc.)
So thanks for putting it this way - I will use this as an extension of the opportunity to practice being okay with throwing away food I've paid for.

The protein to calorie ratio isn?t so great. They?re also not super healthy. High fat and sodium. Like most processed food.
Sugars are good
Honestly eggs give give a lot of folks problems early in and I?d imagine a product like that would be even more difficult.
i would let your family eat this and stay away from the 'heat and eat meal' foods within reason- most do well with turkey burgers, egg whites, mahi burgers etc. I remember making turkey bacon, pureeing it with some fat free gravy and having that. it was amazing after being on liquids for so long.
also if you haven't been to the world according to eggface go check it out.
I keep them in my freezer and eat them when I'm pressed for time. They are slightly off profile, but that's the Quinoa. It's enough off profile that I only eat them occasionally, but they work on the odd scheduling issue. Don't stress it, but also don't eat it daily. I have found that McDs has great eggwhites or scrambled eggs as a side. Perfect portion size and under $2 in most places. Since I found that out, I don't eat this product as much. I do avoid the one that has more fat calories. I think its the sausage one. I think the answer to your question is how much of a purist are you for profile eating and eating fresh foods. I try to eat as much fresh as I can, but I eat lots of pre-prepared foods that fit the profile (mostly). Have fun!
PS - I take it that you didn't search the product in the forum before posting. The responses above are pretty typical. The consensus from prior threads is that the majority on this site are purists and hate this product's profile. So in the end - it's really going to be up to you how you approach products like this. The vast majority here wouldn't touch it. Take that as feedback, if you will.

I've been on the forums for 6 years and this is the first time I've heard of this product. I suspect many of the regulars are in a similar position. How can I hate something that's never been discussed?
