Unable to eat much when stressed

We did a lot of major painting on the interior, new sump pump, foundation cracks, window cleaning (we live along the Eisenhower Extension) power washing, landscaping last fall, tree removal.

We had 2 offers 18K over asking. We are getting paid back in return plus more.

I do not have an underlying health issue as Laura keeps suggesting. Believe me I can still eat a lot more than the 1/2 to full cup of food that I should only indulge in. The readying of the house for sale and the work that goes with it is keeping me from eating sometimes. My brain just starts thinking of things that I need to be doing while I am eating.

Are you sure this is all it is? Do you see your doctor regularly? It could be stress or it could be something more serious. My mom ignored health issues that seemed meaningless for years. Unfortunately she was just diagnosed with cancer and had she paid attention to all the little signs over the past few years maybe it would have been found sooner.

Laura, thank you so much for the response but you are reading way too much into this. I am very proactive with my current doctors and most of them are in the same hospital network and communicate together. I go for blood work and appointments as are needed in the course of a year. I am also a research 'junkie" for knowledge. As you can read there are others that have responded with similar observations so I am not alone. I know the toll that stress can take as I worked in Law Enforcement for over 36 years as a first responder. I truly pray that your mother gets great care for her cancer treatment now that it has been diagnosed.

I am glad you are getting regular check-ups. Changes in eating habits can indeed be a symptom of cancer so I am not reading too much into this. At 15 years out, I would not just chalk this up as normal to my RNY. My father had the same symptoms as you and was later diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

If it were me, I would ask my surgeon for an endoscopy and/or barium swallow to check everything out.

Best wishes for continued good health.
