Mornin' All!
excellent interview of a potential trust company yesterday (actually, the trust dept of an area bank). They'll do practically everything after we're incapacitated and/or dead, except for make health care decisions for us. I was a little leery about this - and them - at first, but no more. They'd be fine. My only worry is that so many local banks seem to have been the target of mergers by these big national banks lately, but I can always change trustees later (well, as long as I'm still functioning...). I'm interviewing a second place today. This place is a stand-alone trust place (as in not affiliated with a bank), so a merger is not as much of a worry. I do feel this is the way to go. I wouldn't want to stick anyone with having to do things like selling our house and cars and paying our bills and filing our taxes - esp not my niece, *****ally would be our only option. I just can't see her doing any of this - not to mention the fact it would be overwhelming even to people who knew what they were doing.
accountabilty could have been better. I drank some Crystal Light with Metamucil mixed in after I got back from yoga class to stop the eating. It worked - in fact, I can still feel it this morning. Should have done it earlier in the day. Maybe I'll start doing it in the late afternoon (at least on my "big pouch days"), since evening seems to be my biggest problem. I know this is kinda cheating, but it does help...
QOTD: We have farmer's markets somewhere in town every day during the summer. One of our Saturday morning ones is one of the largest in the country (if not the largest). There are a couple of farm stands in town, but most are out in the country - but we really only have to drive about 10 minutes to be "out in the country". We used to get eggs from a local farmer (they delivered a bunch to our neighbor, who then distributed them), but we weren't eating them fast enough so I stopped - but yes, there are fresh egg options, too. Meats - we have a handful of butcher shops in town. There's one that specializes in organic meat, but it's pretty pricey. Also, the university has a butcher shop. It's a land grant university, so we have an ag school. There are some classes where they teach students to butcher and to grade meats - so they do butchering on campus. Then they sell the meat in their little butcher shop.

I actually got that idea from a former PCP (she's since retired). She was normal weight, but she struggled with it *constantly*. It was one of her tricks when she was feeling a heavy eating night coming on. Anyway, this was back when I was SMO. I told her night eating was a real problem for me, so she let me in on this....it does help...

One of these days we should grab coffee (or other cafe beverage of choice) when you're in Omaha! I'll be coming through your town next month on my way to Denver, but I'll have a carload of other people with me lol. They may not want to stop except for a potty break.
