Unfortunately critters and pests are a fact of life when gardening, especially organically. I just give everything a good wash in water/vinegar before I eat it.

Good morning! Today will be a fun day at the zoo. Lots of walking around, though I don't normally count strolling as any exercise! It will be relaxing for sure though and I haven't been since I was a little kid.

QOTD: Not really :( there are a couple local things, but I live in a decent sized city. I get upset when I have to buy eggs since they've gone up so much. I was getting them for 49 cents, now suddenly they are nearly two dollars. It happened almost over night!

Good morning JB and menu crew. Thank you to those that wished me a Happy Birthday, I appreciate it. Celebrated a dinner out with my Wife, Kids and my Parents in Burlington VT , I did have a piece of bread with dinner, ate veal parm and no pasta.

Accountability was good with the exception of the bread.

QOTD - we have many options locally. There is one road in particular that has the following within 1/4 mile of one another ( and they are in the middle of no where) - Craft Brewery , Organic Eggs, cheese and yogurt ( goat as well), organic Beef, Chicken and pork. This area is one of my favorites - the farm owners are all early 30's and very nice folks. I have not tried the organic meat yet as it is pricey. We also have a farmers market in my town as well as a bigger one 30 minutes away, and a CSA is available at a large organic veggie farm. Lots of options.

B - 2 hard boiled eggs

S - Fage 0% with almond butter

L - Ham chef salad

S - cheese stick

D - Meatballs/sausage and zoodles...

Stay healthy my friends, Mike

Hi all we do have farmers markets and I do live in the country. I had farm fresh eggs until about a month ago when the bear disaster began. The most interesting farm I found last year has water buffalo and alpaca meat, both are very yummy.

Food was pretty ok yesterday, i made egg clouds for dinner and they were very yummy. I couldn't sleep last night so was up for a while. finally slept and didn't eat protein bars to 'soothe' me so that is a huge win.

food for today:

protein pancakes

coffee with chocolate PP

I took out salmon to make with seafood gumbo but we may go for wings- just depends

I didn't go to the gym yesterday, I took a nap instead which worked out for me. I neeeded a bread.

Today is legs day and i'm kind of dreading going. not sure what that is about.

"I needed a bread" is in the running for best Freudian auto-correct of the year!

Good morning :)

The ultrasound yesterday went well -- my grandma was super cute and excited about seeing the baby. Baby is still breech but we have lots of time for a turn. I get the detailed report tomorrow from my doctor.

I have nothing specific planned today. If the rain holds off I might try to tackle our front garden. It's generally pretty low maintenance once I clean out things. I have been very tempted to pull all the plants and put down grass seed... But it's the only garden left as we took out our side garden and put down rocks to help with drainage around the house.

QOTD: DH's mom lives on a farm and has a huge garden so we always get stuff from her. She is possibly moving to a new farm this year so I don't know what she will have planned. We are within 5-10 minutes of lots of farm areas -- apples, corn, etc. There is also a great poultry farm store that we go to to stock up. I would love to hit up the farmers market this weekend.

Post-op three years, two months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - toast and PB

Lunch - leftover pork roast

Snack - Greek yogurt

Dinner - bunless burger and roasted veggies

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Good morning everyone!

First time I've been online in a bit - went from Phoenix to Deadwood back to Phoenix and now I'm in Playa Del Carmen Mexico.

Accountability: I need to spend some time building up a mental picture of how what an ounce of anything is. I've stayed on plan in terms of food choices - didn't even look at the giant dessert table at dinner yeaterday! - but I'm not sure I'm judging my calorie and protein counts correctly without my scale for weighing. Fortunately the hotel here has a scale for me, if not for my food, so I can measure each day to see if I'm staying on track! Today is my 90 day surgiversary so I was kind of glad to see the scale for tracking purposes!

QOTD-we have a great farmers market where there's occasionally local produce but many options when it comes to locally sourced meat, honey, and things like soaps, lotions and baked good(that I no longer eat).

B - premiere and coffee, egg from buffet

L - chicken or cheese

s - cheese

d - not sure, our restaurant for the event tonight is French so I'm sure portion size will be controlled and I'll have chicken or beef

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I was told to imagine 1oz of cooked meat as the size of 3 dice. Hope that helps!
