Morning all...going to make this quick, I have a million things to get done before driving 120 miles to get to my furthest school! Yesterday was super busy and I barely got a chance to come back and read your posts. Today will be worse!

Accountability: GREAT! And you know what? My detox from carbs and sugar is working! Someone handed me a cookie for teacher appreciation week and it held absolutely no excitement for me. It could have been cardboard.... Yay! I am also down a pound and a half today :)

QOTD: Do you have options for buying local food? Where I lived before I met Grim is a much more rural part of the state. I couldn't turn around twice without hitting a local farm stand with fresh eggs and veggies. There were even a few meat coops close by. But near here it's almost impossible to find anything. I miss my fresh farm eggs!

**Just noticed an oops on my menu. I put the serving size for my egg as zero, lol. Magic food! Nope, I plan to eat one large egg with ham and cheese for my 2nd breakfast ;)

Have a great day, everyone!

Morning friends.. woke up this morning feeling like absolute crap! Getting a cold right now just is not acceptable so today I will start pumping myself with whatever I can so I don't get sick. It came from sitting in meetings all day yesterday with a selfish co-worker who does not care if others are freezing only what her comfort is...

QOTD: we have on farmers market that is open on Wednesday and Saturday and we always say we are going to go and never do.

Food for the day:

B: bacon and cheese stick

L: turkey and cottage cheese

D: pulled pork

Have a good day friends...

Morning! Drive by posting today, the day is already getting away from me!

qotd:we usually only have farmers markets in the summer months since it's so cold the rest of the year. There is a local greenhouse that sells tomatoes year round though. I think eggs are available year round but you usually need to know a person or a person that knows a person haha.

b Syntrax and almond milk, coffee

l turkey cream cheese roll ups

d leftover pulled pork (almost gone. It's gonna be awhile before I want pulled pork again lol)

s yogurt and a meat stick

e busting my hump at work today so I'm going to skip this one.

Good morning menu folks! Another sunny, warm day on tap for us but it is a busy day and getting outside will be hard. I'll certainly try though! I do plan to make it to Aqua Zumba tonight though.

JB, could you tell me the name of the blood test that measures calcium. I know that someone has talked about it but I can't remember what it is. I want to get that measured since my bone density was going down on my last Dexa.

QOTD: we have a couple of local farmers markets but the produce is often overpriced and not that fresh. When I visit my mom in rural PA, farm stands are everywhere!

Menu:

Breakfast: scrambled egg, turkey sausage

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, almonds

Lunch: fish, zucchini

Snack: turkey breast, apple, string cheese

Dinner: probably chicken breast

Exercise: I hope to get in at least 30 min of walking; Aqua Zumba this evening

Are you referring to the PTH test? That's the one that, if elevated, indicates that you are leeching calcium from your bones. If I recall correctly (but someone feel free to jump in and correct me!) that is the best way to determine, because your body will always find calcium to draw from, somewhere, so the calcium levels will likely read okay even if they are not...

Thanks! Just what I was thinking of but couldn't remember the name.

yes. There really is no blood test to accurately test calcium. My endocrinologist prefers to rely on bone density scans as well as 24 hour urine collections to see if you're levels are in range or you are leeching. PTH is a good indicator, but not conclusive.
