Thank you! I've learned a lot and I love this site. I recommend it to everyone I know who is thinking about surgery.

I am hoping to find some phlox sometime today, it's gorgeous and it just keeps growing. I love it.

Yesterday was on plan again, although I fell a little behind with my water. Today I am changing out the sugar free jello for the creamy protein jello from "eggface" blog. I divided into 6 servings instead of 4 though cause I don't think I could eat that much yet.

Qotd: I googled like crazy to start with. Reading every scientific article, negative blog, positive blog... anything I could find really. I sorta went down the rabbit hole for a while. Once I made the decision though, I focused more on scientific and medical journals. Some of my best information came a month before my surgery from a dear friend who happens to be a surgeon. Bariatric procedures are not her specialty but regarding the surgery itself she shed a lot of light and made me feel so much better about everything.

Bf: Milk of Magnesia, 1/3 premier protein, 2oz siggi's yogurt

L: 2oz pureed chicken noodle soup, 1/3 premier protein

D: 4oz pureed chicken noodle soup, 1/3 premier protein

S: creamy protein jello

About 260 calories total.

Happy Monday everyone!

Another stunning day up here in the PNW! I have moved a lot in my lifetime, and have lived all over the place. But I suspect this will be it for me for the rest of my life. I could certainly move to a different house, but will probably stay in this neck of the woods from here on out. With lots of travel instead of more big moves!

QOTD: A nurse who drew blood from me 2-3 years ago told me that she and both of her daughters had had RnYs. That got me started thinking about it. My PCP had suggested it once, but I rejected the idea - I'd felt it was incredibly extreme. But when that nurse mentioned it it hit me differently. Then my neighbor, a nurse, had a VSG. I read everything I could find and swung violently from "yes I'm going to do this!" To "I am out of my mind for even considering such a drastic thing!". Then I realized my insurance would cover it, and it all got more real. I read here on OH all the time. When I finally met my surgeon, I was still thinking in terms of a VSG. But I had seen my neighbor stall out with at least 60-75 more pounds to go (and she is very vertically challenged, so that is a lot on her frame). I didn't want to go through everything only to stall out at a lower, but still obese, weight. My surgeon, Dr. Helmuth Billy, really took his time explaining to me the three options - VSG, RnY, and DS. He could have given me any of those and really left the decision up to me, but after our talk, I felt I would be most successful with the RnY. After that I kept swinging back and forth from enthusiasm to terror! But when the finally time came on June 12, 2017, I was all in, and deeply at peace with my choice. I have had a wonderful experience thus far, and OH has been a fantastic resource every step of the way!

First: mugs of tea

B: tuna, smoked gouda

L: turkey breast

D: more turkey

Snack if needed: Greek yogurt, with a little sugar-free syrup

Have a great day, you guys!
