Good morning JB and menu crew! Congrats on your job offer, never settle has always been my motto, the right fit will come along. My weekend was good and busy as well. I got alot done around the house.

Morning JB and OHer's, the weekend was quiet and great! One of the hardest things I'm learning to do is...stay home... I always get antsy and want to go somewhere...never want to stay home. I used to have a huge vegetable garden...a terraced front yard rockery...lots of rhodies, azaleas, and hedges of evergreens...lots of yardwork!...now i have a flower pot on my deck. Downsizing to condo living is a challenge...retirement is a challenge...the neat thing about it is that i get to redesign my life...the hard thing about it is that I need to redesign my life...I'm going to plant something in that flower pot...I'm scheduled for my right knee replacement june 12th...then recovery...then the work begins!!! Yes!
QOTD I had my surgery in 2003...I did not do a lot of research other than finding a doctor that I trusted...I figured that if it worked for others that it would work for me...that if most of the people made it through the surgery then so would I...and I did...it was scary for me but i did it anyway (my sister passed, from infection, three weeks after her wls in the early 80's )
B hb egg, 1bacon
L tuna patty
D 4oz. Turkey breast
Have a great day everyone
Good morning menu peeps! Lily and I got our 4 miles in already and will do another mile after supper. I plan on at least 10,000 steps total today. QOTD I got most of my info from my surgeons office and here on OH. When I had surgery nearly 6 years ago I didn't know a soul who had had it but I was desperate for help. Best decision ever! Accountability great with no extra bites taken. Post op 5 years 8.25 months and weight at 119 today (yuck!). Heres the food plan B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c chicken salad with 6 baby carrots D 31/2 oz ribeye 1/2 c green beans S sm apple with 1 T peanut butter. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone! Off to find some coffee!
Good morning. Exercise is going very well, so is the mouth healing. I'm starting to eat more dense protein again, so that makes me happy. Accountability over the weekend was better, but not as good as I want. I've been generally flat for the last few weeks, so that's telling me that my portions are closer to maintenance and I've got to get diligent. Most of the extras are veg and some dark chocolate. So that has to get cut way back this week for my goal. But I am enjoying the spinning and Power classes I'm taking.
QOTD - a friend gave me a brochure, but most of the discussion happened with my former PCP. My friend had the sleeve done about 2 years before my surgery. So she'd see me struggling and exhausted just walking into the building at work. She stopped one day and sat with me while I rested and almost starting crying because of how I was struggling. Those were bad times. I'll never forget having to stop 3 to 4 times before I'd get to my desk. I also had to have a special accommodation to sit nearer the bathrooms and elevator vs. where I would have been assigned. That means I kinda sit away from my work group. God that was bad - just walking 50 feet would just about kill me. I sit 25 feet from the bathroom and wouldn't drink water at work to avoid too many trips. I'm so glad that is in my past and remains part of my motivation to keep going. Which means no dark chocolate this week - damn it!! Stupid extra 200 calories ;)
Most of my flatness really comes from the fact that I stopped weighing my veg and only measure my protein. My salads have just gotten too big and add about 200 calories twice a day. That and the few little extras has slowed me, so I'm going back to much less veg and only weighing and measures get consumed. I can do this!
B - 2 eggs scrambled in pam
S - Lite Baby Bel
L - 3 oz Chicken burger, tiny salad
S - Fage 5.6 oz
D - 3 oz of beef and tiny salad
S - low sugar popsicle
P.S. Can someone wake up the Predators and tell them they are a much better team than they seem to think they are right now. Oh man this has been a brutal series and painful to watch. I have faith for them tonight, but keep them in your prayers. Oh forgot - many of you are likely Jets fans. So those of you in the US keep them in your prayers ;)
HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)

You are exactly right about the importance of measuring every single thing we eat. I cannot trust the portion sizes that my fat girl self will put on my plate. You think after nearly 6 years she would go away but trust me--she's still there and tries daily to get me to let her out. We BOTH have this though. You are doing great!
Good Morning! JB, I am glad you are feeling confident about finding the right job and that you didn't take an offer that didn't feel like it was "it". Nothing too adventurous for us over the weekend. Emily came home from Disneyland Saturday afternoon (she had a great time) and hubby had an annual work event yesterday so Saturday he worked for a bit and I only saw him for a few hours yesterday between set-up and the actual event.
QOTD: It was kind of a mixture. A few people I work with had used the same program so got tons of info from them. I read a lot on the internet and finally created my OH account once I realized almost every time I "googled" a question I was sent to OH for an answer - LOL. I would be lost without OH that's for sure.

Good morning, JB and menu pals! So sad to see another Monday, but I'm grateful to have had a nice weekend.
qotd: I got most of my info from research on the internet. Unfortunately, I feel like I was less than prepared because my surgeon didn't give me hardly any info other than what the surgery would entail as far as recovery goes. I wish that I had been better prepared, but thanks to all of you, I had/have plenty of help along the way. Every single day is a challenge (I miss eating whatever whenever... But I definitely don't miss being MO). It's so nice to feel like I'm not alone and to have such amazing support.
