What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
on 5/7/18 2:25 am
Oh Monday, we meet again... Actually, I had a very nice relaxing weekend. We had a bunch of plans with friends that all ended up getting canceled, so we just hung around the house. I also spent time going through the house and tossing out anything that has sugar hidden in the ingredients. I literally threw away a garbage bag filled with random sauces and dressings that I had collected over the years. Most of them were expired anyway, but it felt good to make the purge. I am going to work a lot harder to get rid of hidden sugars...
I have all kinds of news on the job front! I was offered a Vice Principal job on Friday (!!), but I have decided not to take it. There are lots of reasons why, which I won't go into here, but I don't think it is the right place for me... It's little scary to turn down a good job, but since the search continues to go well, I feel more confident thinking that I will be able to make a choice that feels right for me :)
QOTD: Where did you get most of your pre-op information about WLS? Was it a book you read? Here on OH or the internet in general? A friend? Your surgical program? My surgery was almost 9 years ago and at the time I read the entire internet, and also bought a lot of books and cookbooks.
Have a great day, everyone!
Morning JB and friends... Weekend was nice. Saturday did a lot of running around and Sunday was chores and doing work work.. for the next two weeks I only work three days each week which is nice but I will be super busy. We leave Thursday for DC and Emily?s graduation.
QOTD: I had two co workers in one of my branch offices that had the surgery and I saw there success so I started researching on the internet.
Food:
B: bacon and cheese stick
L: turkey and cottage cheese
D: burger
Have a good day all!
Good morning! The weekend was okay - we went to a funeral north of Boston on Saturday which made for a very long day (2 hours drive each way) and yesterday just caught up on a few things and had dinner with BIL and SIL. And Friday afternoon I got a tattoo in memory of my daughter who had several Pooh characters tattooed around her ankle including Tigger. Her name is in her handwriting in the middle (pic below).
QOTD: I started researching WLS on the internet, reading everything I could find first (like you). That was how I found out about VSG and decided I could live with that. Previously I had looked into the lapband but wasn't comfortable with it (thank goodness) and I had some reservations about the long term affects of malabsorption with RNY. On the latter, I don't think I would have the same reservations today, but so far the VSG has worked well for me. After I started the process with my surgeon, I read several books they recommended plus anything I could find on sites they suggested including OH. At the end of the day, it was OH that provided me the most information at all points in the process.
