I'm Scheduled!! 5/14/18!
Congrats and good luck! Remember that the keys to recovery are lots of fluids and as much gentle walking as you can tolerate.
HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.
Surgeons vary on binders. I got one in the hospital and wore it all the time for 4 weeks and on and off for another 2 weeks. I also used one after my abdominal hysterectomy for 2 to 3 weeks. I felt that it provided support and some mild pain relief.
Some doctors don't like them and discourage patients from using them.
I will say that they can be hot and stiff and uncomfortable to wear during warmer weather. Talk to your doctor and see what he thinks. The ones on Amazon are certainly cheaper than a medical supply store.
Best of luck to you! Recovery can be miserable at times but just keep reminding yourself of the good things to come. Congratulations!
