What's on you Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 5/1/18 2:30 am
Good morning everyone! I know I am a poor man's substitute for Daisy, but she decided to take a break for a bit, because doing the daily menu thread is a pretty exhausting job for every day... So...you are stuck with me :) Anyway, it's a good time for me to step in because with my impending unemployment (today marks 15 more days!), I will have lots of time to devote to it. In addition, I will definitely need to be better about PLANNING and ACCOUNTABILITY. Staying home all day has never been good for me--I'm much better about taking planned meals with me which helps me avoid grazing. I hope that taking the time to start this every day will help me put time into taking my planning seriously.
QOTD: Do you or anyone you know believe in any conspiracy theories like Bigfoot or Area 51? My otherwise normal, smart, and sane uncle is 100% convinced that the moon landing was faked, which just cracks me up. He has collected "evidence". Hmm, hahaha.
I was so busy this weekend, that I didn't do a proper grocery run, so I am hoping to get to Trader Joe's later today. I'm just so bored with my usual healthy options lately... Boo.
Morning JB and menu folks! It is clear and sunny here in MD. My fingers were cold this morning but it is supposed to be 80 today and 90+ by Thursday! Strange!
This afternoon is the pre-op appointment with my PCP and Thursday I have my pre-op with my PS. I am getting excited but also a bit nervous. I just had my hysterectomy in February and am really getting my strength and endurance back. I will also miss my swimming again for a while but I am looking forward to being less saggy!
JB, I really hope that one of your interviews works out. The unknown can be really difficult!
I am considering applying for a promotion after many years comfortably huddled in the same spot. It would be a supervisory position and I'm not really sure whether I want the responsibility and headaches but I think it may be time to make the move. The interviews won't be until June or July but I am giving it alot of thought.
Menu:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, almonds, string cheese
Lunch: fish, salad
Snack: turkey breast, apple
Dinner: turkey, broccoli slaw
Exercise: I'd like to get out for a walk at lunch, not sure if I will make it to deep water aerobics tonight

Good morning! I know what you mean about it being exhausting starting the post. Coming up with a QOTD is a challenge and Daisy is of course always such an upbeat person to get us going. Once in a while I start the VSG thread, but can't match up with you guys. Actually I think it is weird that so many fewer people participate on the VSG side. At least in some parts of the US, surgeons are doing way more VSG surgery than RNY these days (Massachusetts for example).
Anyway, I enjoy all you guys!
QOTD: Nope, I don't believe in any conspiracy theories. I'm too practical to pay much attention to that stuff.

I know, I always wondered why the VSG menu thread is less active, given the statistics! I think it is the loyal band of sisters (and occasional brother) who make it a family-atmosphere that keeps people going back.
Good morning JB and menu crew - I am hoping Daisy will still join us???? She does a great job with the thread and her time and energy is appreciated!!!! JB you will do fabulous as well!! Rain yesterday and it is raining again this morning, enough already, I have had enough!!! LOL
Accountability - right on yesterday with zero grazing...
QOTD - I am disappointed in the news - I no longer watch, I feel there are many conspiracies when it comes to the news and am convinced we are fed what they want us to see. I am fortunate to live close to canada so i get to watch some of their broadcasts and I can tell you they differ from ours.

hi all
yesterday worked, gym, dollar store, home depot (yes apparently I live there and we needed more more paint) but paint means things are coming together!! My laundry room/office is almost done- i need to finish the floor once the paint is done, move back the washer and dryer then my stuff can be reorganized yet again.

Hey guess what? I tried Hala's advice to try using charcoal for acid and it really helped! I had already been on my PPI, plus was popping tums, but the first time I felt any relief in days was about an hour after taking the charcoal!

Activated charcoal caps. Not sure about a specific brand, but you can find them at places like CVS.
