I am really not sure what mine is all about, but I actual woke up choking on acid last night which has not happened to me since the days of the band. I don't see any rhyme or reason to why it is happening, but I am getting my ass back onto a PPI, stat. This is miserable.

its been a week since i've been off ppi. gastro said he didn't really want me on it. so it has been a little over a week. acid started about the same time i decided to do heavy cream in my coffee instead of almond milk for the fat. i didn't have any yesterday and it was better but i keep going through spells where i feel almost like vomiting and cant eat more than 4 bites of food.

great for the scale though

Oh that sounds terrible, I hope it gets better for you, soon!

I wish I knew what is causing mine to act up, again, so I could make the change and make it stop! I have been off of the PPI for awhile now. I'd like to stay off it, because of the long term side effects, but I guess it will always need to be on hand in case it's needed.

Often undiagnosed food allergies can cause GERD.

Have you tried drinking 1tbs of apple cider vinegar mixed with 4 is of warm water. Then followed with more water - to rinse the mouth and teeth (you don't want acid residue on your teeth.

Yeah, I didn't try it this weekend, but in the past I've had mixed results with apple cider vinegar--sometimes it seemed to help and other times it didn't make any difference.

The only thing that is 100% reliable to make my symptoms better is Gaviscon, but it is literally the grossest thing on earth, so I have to be really suffering to go there. I think I will pick some up from Target on the way home. Boo.

I also use SF (Walmart or Sam's) brand Tums. Reason we don't absorb calcium carbonate is because we don't make enough acid to convert carbonate into citrate. With extra acid my gut makes - it is not an issues. I keep some in my night stand. Just for that - walking up in a middle of the night with acid burn.

Beside Tums - activated charcoal capsules worked good for me. Really really good.

It may have been bad food you had during the day your body was desperate to try to digest. Even small amount of bacteria in food may trigger acid overproduction, to prevent food poisoning.

Hope things are better today.

Maybe job interviews?

I've been in Seattle rush hour traffic recently. I usually avoid it. What I noticed was how many people looked so grumpy in their cars.

I hope you get a close job!

Good morning and happy Monday everyone!

Accountability this weekend was good. I really have to thank all of your for doing this thread so diligently; the few minutes of planning it takes to post really helps me THINK about what I'm eating and plan for choices that keep me in the ranges I want to be!

QOTD: My first "real" job gave us free accounts at Norwest Banks with tons of perks -- Norwest is now Wells Fargo but they left all the perks intact so although I question their business practices, I've never switched -- and even with all my cross country moves, there's always been a branch nearby.

Good morning :)

Nothing planned today but a ton of things I could do on my list. I have an aloe plant that I want to split so if it's nice out I think I will try doing that. I don't have much of a green thumb but I'm trying :) I accidentally dropped a succulent plant in my sink yesterday and later noticed that it broke the plant. I'm hoping that it can recover.

I went to the Value Village sale yesterday and got a few pieces of clothing. It is weird to be buying a bigger size ;) Buy all the stretchy things!! Lol.

QOTD: I also bank with TD. I've had interactions with other banks for different reasons (e.g. my aunt's estate account) and I haven't really found one that I like better. Is that a reason to stay? Lol. I do have one credit card through a different bank because they have a card for the university that I went to. DH has his stuff at a different bank and sometimes I think it would be handy for us to be at the same place. He would move his accounts because he likes his bank less... But the thought of moving everything right now is daunting.

Post-op three years, one month.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - toast and pb

Lunch - chicken pasta (my friend made it for us yesterday when we went for lunch)

Snack - Greek yogurt

Dinner - burgers on the BBQ (so excited)

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.
