Mornin' All!

We're heading for Chicago (again) this evening - I'm meeting up with some cousins in the morning to visit some areas where our parents and ancestors lived, and then going to one of the cemeteries where a lot of them are buried. The three of us are the "family historians" for our respective branches (the cousins I'm seeing are actually a second cousin and a third cousin, not first - so we don't all know the same relatives). We meet up three or four times a year, and always a lot of fun.

I was a little worried about my 19-year-old cat, Ruthie, who had some vomiting spells a couple of days ago and has really picked at her food the last couple of days. I made a vet appt for her this afternoon, but she ate most of her food overnight and seems more chipper this morning. I hope she's on the mend. If not, I was going to have to either cancel my weekend trip or have DH stay at home with her just to keep an eye on her. But I think we'll be OK now. I plan to work from home for a big chunk of the day today so I can monitor her. Hopefully she's getting over this.

QOTD: I used to use Kiehl products, which are great but very spendy. The last couple of years I've used lotions that my massage therapist makes. They're wonderfully rich and she uses essential oils in them instead of artificial scents. A lot of artificial scents give me headaches, but essential oils don't seem to bother me. Plus her lotions are way cheaper than what I'd been paying - $8.50 for a 16 oz bottle. I always have two or three bottles on hand in different scents.

My face is super dry so on that I put on a few drops of facial oil or Trader Joe's vitamin E oil and then cover that well with Andalou night repair cream. I do that even in the day time.

2 years 10 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with fresh raspberries

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein peach melba shake

L: if home, chicken meatballs with Asian-style slaw. If at work, cottage cheese

AS: 2 T peanut butter on celery sticks

D: if home, probably the rest of the pulled pork (if we're on the road, something safe!!)

TGIF!! TGIF! TGIF!!!

I'm so glad this week is over! Weekend is jammed packed but I don't care as I won't be at work!!

Funny enough I too am getting my hair done tomorrow. Bye bye grey!! :) Then I have to switch out the winter tires, and I ordered a new bed on way fair so I need to clean out my bedroom. New bed? No room to store anything under the bed. Currently? I can only say it's full. LOL

Accountability: 100% WHEW! White knuckled for a few hours, but I made it. Thank god my house is a clean eating zone. I can over eat. But it's all protein forward food. No treats. WHEW!

QOTD: I like Olay...in the purple bottle, or white musk from the body show, or bath and body works. So to answer your question? Nope. No favorites. Depends on my mood. :)

Today is going to be a rough one food wise.

Breakfast: Tea with restoralax and premier protein, 1/4 of a bagel with peanut butter.

Snack: Greek yogurt with flax

Lunch: Here's the issue. It's poutine fest and my team decided to go down to it as a team. I can't get a regular one. No way I'll be able to eat it. well, maybe? But NO. I'm not sure if they sell samples? or child sizes. so depending on how it goes? I may have to fake sick, or pretend I'm not in the mood for poutine. SIGH. Crossing fingers they sell samples. (if they don't? I have some salami and cheese slices in my lunch bag ready to go.)

Snack: Depending on lunch? A bottle of MOM to help digest? HAHAA KIDDING. Most likely nothing, but I have a Jello pudding cup-ready to go.

Supper: I've been asked to go out. Again! Cripes. but if we do? We are either going to a burrito place or a fish place with the best fish tacos. So I'll have a burrito bowl no rice, or a nice fish taco. just one. If I can manage to get out of going out? STEAK!! on the BBQ.

Exercise: Doing a kick boxing class tonight, and would like to do 30 on the dreadmill. My new sneakers are amazing. I'm loving not having pain in my feet!!

No pic from me. I'm doing this from work. I'll post from my phone next week.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Lori

ask for cheese curds and gravy....Oh Poutinefest...how brave are you!!! I love Poutine - they try and duplicate it where I live and it is not the same as the Canadian version!!!

HAHA Good idea!! I totally should!!! There's a cheeseburger poutine that may help, or a smoked meat poutine and the best one is the Canadian-with maple bacon-extra cheese. Drool.

Hmmm eat the toppings and forget the fries. is it possible? Am I that strong? LOL

I'm not sure if it's brave or I hate myself. I too LOVE poutine!! LOVE it. ARGH!!

Good morning Daisy and menu folks. I am off a half day today, I am bringing Ryley for another college visit, he has decided he would like to go to a school closer to home. One good thing about the school we are looking at today is it is awarding him the most$$$ of any of his offers thus far. Within a half hour of home and he will live on campus. I think he will change his mind and go here. I would rather he decide now than during the school year.

QOTD - I believe we use aveeno, LOL. I do use it almost daily so I should know.

Accountability was good last night.

B- premier protein shake

S - oikos triple zero and cheese stick

L - Salad with rotisserie chicken

S - Buddig meat

D - Half of an amazing asada burrito. No tortilla.

Pics are from Vacation - Joddie and I riding Bikes at a resort we stayed at, Gator on a Nature trail, and a couple of pics of Joddie and I with the selfie stick, poolside. ( never would have posted a pic with my shirt off prior to WLS- Im not perfect, but I am no longer ashamed!!)

My youngest DD started at a college 2 hours from home (at the school that provided the least amount of $). She ended up transferring to one 20 minutes away for second semester and graduated from there *** Laude (with a partial scholarship for all 3.5 years). She lived at school but wanted to be able to easily come home when she wanted to. She just applied and was accepted into their MBA program (8 years after receiving her bachelors degree).

Nice pics btw!

Good morning! It's so nice to be able to arrive at work and not be frozen. I'm still kinda cold, but not right through for hours and hours. Yesterday I was out of the office all day, so I got some sun and played around in traffic for a while. It was a nice break from the monotony.

Menu: B: Protein bar and 1.5 oz of peanuts with a kahlua flavoured k-cup coffee. Sweet merciful crap I was in heaven in my office this morning.

MS: 1/2 cup ff greek with strawberries

L: Chicken breast from last night's supper.

AS: 1/2 cup cottage cheese with some apple slices

S: Unknown but probably chili.

ES: Decaf, and flavoured water.

QOTD: I don't actually use any moisturizer, though I suppose I should. Particularly with the riding/walking I do, I'm exposed to wind and sun a lot. Sooner or later I'll start looking like an old catcher's mitt. I just never bothered with it but my wife does. I have no idea what she's got, but I'll look into it.

:) Have a good weekend!

Good Morning and it's Fri-Yay peeps. Daisy, that meme is awesome with great reminders. We don't have much on the calendar for the weekend aside from some Spring cleaning/ purging that hopefully at some point will be move prep too. Oh and Em has a Disneyland trip with band next week (they are staying 2 nights) so I need to get her clothing organized which means I think we need to shop for some shorts for her.

QOTD: I love my Philosophy Pure Grace lotion but I also use a coconut oil lotion (Palmers brand) often.

Time since surgery: 3 years 8 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Buffalo style tuna pack, low carb pita, boiled egg and Carbmaster yogurt

D: Cloud eggs, turkey sausage links and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal
