So cool...gardening is a hobby I have always wanted to get into but I have absolutely zero knowledge about it. I can't even manage to keep a house plant alive.
DH and I bought our house almost 2 years ago and I am super thankful the previous owners landscaped with very hearty plants because it still looks really nice and really just needs some weeding and pruning a few times a year.

gardening can be as easy or as complicated as you want to make it! For basic vegetable plants you really just need a seed (or a transplant from a gardening center), some dirt, and some water :) most plants will take care of the rest of you keep the weeds away and give them regular water and a bit of sunshine

Good Friday morning menu folks from rainy MD! After a lovely day yesterday, it is truly icky today.

I got in lots of exercise yesterday. I walked 4.5 miles at lunch from my office down to the WWII monument. It was great to get out! Because it was a really stressful day, I knew that the evening was either going to involve a big box of donuts and some ice cream OR a lot of swimming. I managed to do the swimming and leave the carbs alone thankfully! I did about half an hour of laps and then did my deep water aerobics class. I haven't done deep water since before my hysterectomy and the ab work was hard. I have been so careful about not stressing that area and it just isn't in shape again. It was great though and I managed to keep up.

This weekend involves some OT and an eye exam. Also a friend is coming over Sunday to help me with a few projects in the yard and house. It will end up being a busy one.

Menu:

Breakfast: wake up wrap and lots of black coffee

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, blueberries, cashews

Lunch: chicken breast, baby carrots

Snack: turkey breast, apple, almonds

Dinner: not sure

Exercise: no walking today probably, an hour of swimming

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!

Today I am going horseback riding and on Sunday I am helping out with a horse show at the fairgrounds. Both should be fun!

A saying that motivates me is Nike's "Just DO it!" Years ago a friend told me she used to put off ironing and she told herself, "Just get the ironing board out" and once she did that it was easy to do the rest.

Pigie is still hanging in there. His foot is starting to curl under, but he is still using it, although limping, and he is his usual cheerful, perky self.

QOTD: I use Gold Bond Healing lotion.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 103, Calories - 1,290, Carbs - 169.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana

L: ham & cheese on 45 calorie bread, light & fit Greek yogurt

D: turkey meal, light & fit Greek yogurt

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups (maybe)

E: horseback riding

My pictures today are Pigie with his hurt foot and a picture of me riding Frosty bareback from last time I went horseback riding.

Have a fantastic day and a great weekend everyone!

Good morning friends... Posting today from beautiful Gaithersburg, MD...Operation surprise Emily went great we told he Thursday morning as were driving down. However, boy were we surprised! The show was amazing I am so proud of my daughter and her classmates the number she wrote was funny, flowed well and was about how the president of the school should cancel school because of snow because the students need a snow day. The whole thing were skits from the Odyssey. There was lots of strong language and adult content but I am fine with that. The only thing I did not like was in one of the skits she played the victim of sexual abuse by the time she was done I was ready to find the person and kick and a$$... Today we are meeting her for lunch and in our down time we have not really decided what we are doing but we are going to the show again tonight.

QOTD: I really don't have a favorite I usually take the freebies from the hotels we stay at and when family travel they all know I like the little samples so they bring them to me. So it varies depending what is in the bag!

Food for the day... Well no clue For breakfast I grabbed a piece of sausage and a yogurt from the continental breakfast bar. For lunch we are going to a pizza place my husband saw on the Food Network called 2 Amy's and for dinner we are going to a restaurant called Cafe Deluxe. So who knows how I will be doing for food today but I can guarantee one thing I will be going to the coffee shop my daughter works at few times to get me my ice tea!

Have a great day and weekend friends...

Good morning good morning! So happy it's Friday...even though I have to wor****il midnight tonight AND tomorrow (and Monday) but it's still Friday and I'm glad! My weekend plans are working, returning a bunch of dresses (I have an event in 2 weeks that requires everyone to wear white...I've finally settled on one but now have to return a boatload that just didn't work. White dresses are hard, unless you want to either look super bridal (not my thing) or want to put EVERYTHING on display (also not me). I did find an AWESOME R2D2 white summer dress but was vetoed on that.

Accountability: on track -- I didn't end up eating my yogurt but I did make the appropriate adjustments and hit my protein and fluid count (exactly...minutes before going to bed) and stayed under my 20 carbs so yay!

QOTD: No, I commonly refer to myself as a product ****I want to try them all, especially anything that smells like Lavender or Almonds or Vanilla or Ginger or.....I think you're getting the idea.

B: Coffee + PP

S: Coffee +PP

L: Dannon Light and Fit, flavor TBD

D: tillamook sharp cheddar cheese square and mini babybel

Totals: 486 calories, 66 protein, 19 carbs

Vitamins: on track -- I'm at the end of my purchased vitamins and calcium chews and decided to switch to a multi with iron vs my current regime which was multi without and then taking it separately. Excited that i have some caramel and cafe latte calcium chews coming too!

Exercise: Treadmill day! I watch this cheesy action show called Into The Badlands so I have the new season premier saved up for my treadmill today. Guilty pleasure TV distracts me and keeps me walking a lot more!

Here is the meme that I've been keeping top of mind lately to keep myself inspired and motivated.

Happy weekend everyone!
