Good morning. I feel like I woke up from a nightmare. Thank god! What a terrible week. My Hematologist put me on Lovenox to bridge my Coumadin levels after the dental surgery. Apparently they gave me the full clot treatment care dose vs. preventative dose and I was literally bleeding profusely from my dental work all week. I mean I'd be talking to someone and they'd shriek because suddenly my mouth would fill with blood and I looked like Dracula (seriously not kidding). I couldn't swim or workout all week, even at home. I was really bleeding that much. I had to sleep with giant absorbent pads all over my bed. OMG! They finally pulled me off everything to let things settle. I hear back today for a forward treatment plan, but no way I'm going back on 100mg Lovenox bid again! I have to admit when they pulled me off all drug I did run out to eat a chicken liver omelette on Saturday (I love those and haven't had one in almost 3 years - can't eat due to completely strips your body of Coumadin). I did get to the pool this morning and it felt great to get back to my routine.

Since I'm on soft foods accountability isn't hard to stay on track - though I admit that on Saturday night I ate 2 scoops of Ben & Jerry's non-dairy frozen desert. Soft foods are frustrating me a lot - as I tried dense protein of varying types and can't do anything more than lunch meat. I even tried some samples at Costco yesterday and couldn't even chew the Pulled Pork. It's going to be a long, long summer. I'm learning that softer foods generally have less protein content per oz and is much less filling. So I'm really having to be careful. Pretty much eating soft cooked eggs, dairy of all kinds, many of the soft foods on Eggface's list. Made the Lasagna last night - I am putting a little spiralized squash in for texture. Works pretty well. I also had some Moussaka on Saturday date night. That was surprisingly good, but I did have to work around the potato layer (eating only 1/3 of them). I have lots of leftovers). Lunches this week will be Salmon or Tuna salad - homemade with some HB eggs and mustard vs. Mayo. But in generally it's a bit more carby for me, so I'll have to work hard at staying on track and not let myself off the hook like Saturday night.

QOTD

I've always wanted to visit England, Scotland and Ireland (though - the Ireland part was to do some serious drinking - I loved Irish Whiskey - so might have to skip that stop). The other trip is to go back to Budapest and take one of those river cruises. I visited Budapest when I was 500 pounds and wished I could have enjoyed a walking tour. So maybe trade out Ireland for Budapest.

B - 3 lightly scrambled eggs

S - 6 oz Fage and tbs PB protein powder

L - Salmon salad I made and .75oz Cheese

S - .75 oz Cheese

D - Moussaka (removing most of the potatoes) a little of the Eggface Lasagna [about 1.5 cups of total food volume]

S - SF popsicles

PS - Go Preds!!!

Morning everyone!

My weekend was pretty uneventful but it was nice to get out of the house finally! Saturdays are usually pretty full for us since it's the only day DH and I have off together. Story has dance class in the mornings and then I usually grocery shop for the week. I definitely spent about half of what I usually do this week as DH started his liquid diet yesterday! I am realizing how much money we are going to save once we are both eating like birds LOL.
Sunday I took Story to the park for a few hours and she loved it. She is definitely an outdoors kid, and loves nothing more than playing outside, no matter what she's doing. she could play with sticks and rocks for hours and never get tired of it.

QOTD: I have wanted to go to Italy since college when I was taking lots of art history classes... SO much I want to see there in terms of architecture and art. Also DH and I would love to go to Ireland for a week or so...and I think with unlimited funds, we could spend a week on the Disney resort in Orlando with Story, doing ALL the things. then the last week I would want to go to the ATLANTIS resort in the Bahamas to rest...ever since I heard about it, I've wanted to go there...they even have MERMAIDS!! LOL.

Morning- coffee w/half Caramel PP
B- egg salad w/cottage cheese
L- leftover gouda stuffed meatballs (one meatball is usually enough)
D: chicken salad w/cottage cheese
S: greek light & fit yogurt

have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning everyone!! I am having a slow start to my Monday; I really need to kick it into gear soon!

Accountability: Saturday I tried the Real Good Food pizza recommended by egg face so my carbs were a little high (25) but ok on calories, protein, etc the rest of the weekend although my bari nurse would probably give me the side eye for the 338 calorie day on Friday.

QOTD: Antarctica is the last continent I need to visit...and there are some epic 3-4 week trips departing from New Zealand that I would consider if time and money were no object! Also, the Northwest Passage Cruise would be awesome.

I started my last 4 weeks of fully soft foods this week and moving to 4 meals vs the 5/6; once I get to week 4 I should just be on 3 meals a day no snacks!

B - coffee+ PP

S - coffee + PP

L - chicken chile rellano casserole

D - 2 oz deli pastrami

totals: 496 calories, 70 protein, 10 carbs

Exercise - last time with my walking group until summer is over!

V&W - on track

Have a wonderful Monday all!

Good rainy Monday! Weekend was full. Had pre op appt Friday, got all prescriptions filled, bought vitamins, and rounded out the shopping by getting things for the liquid diet phase. Today is day 2.

For food, it's liquids all the way!

QOTD I've always wanted to go to Italy, but closer to home, when I retire DH and I want to drive the Lincoln hwy. So maybe spend a month doing that.

Have a good day!

Good Morning!!

It's sunny, so I'll focus on that. But oh it's a Monday!!

My weekend was great. Too short, but aren't they all? It's BBQ season!! Had the first one on Saturday night! It was fantastic!! Tis the season!

Accountability: Meh. I went out with friends on Friday night. A burger place. so I had a 4oz burger with a poutine side. I asked for a take out container right away, cut the burger in half, had 3-4 bites of poutine and so I went home with a small poutine and half a burger. I knew it was a waste to order it. But I caved to social pressures. Poutine went in the garbage the next day and I reheated the burger and ate it without the bun.

Saturday was perfect. 100% on plan. Sunday was weird. I got up before my self-defence class, and had a tea with restoralax and then I had made mini protein muffins with a mix and ate 1. As I was waiting/wasting time I had the oddest feeling in my stomach. It wasn't bad just an odd, new feeling. uncomfortable but not painful. Next thing I know? I'm puking. full on puking. Tossed up what I had eaten and spent 20 minutes urging and throwing up-but it was all clear liquid at that point. Once it was over? I was ok. But that was scary. I didn't think we threw up anymore? I have no idea what caused it. There was nothing new that I had eaten. So all that to say yesterday was a low key food day. I was waiting for it to start again. I still went to class and got beat up. So overall, good day! :)

QOTD: Europe. I would love it.

Menu:

Breakfast: Tea with premier protein and restoralx

Snack: Premier protein

Lunch: turkey deli meat with cheese and some wiggle sauce. :)

Snack: Protein water--maybe a jello cup if I'm feeling it.

Supper: I had taken out steak for yesterday, so I have cook it. Maybe add in some veggies. See how the day goes. I'm still trying to take it easy, hence the liquid snacks.

Exercise: HIIT class tonight followed by the dreadmill. Then home to clean!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Lori

Yikes, I am glad that you felt better. Any chance it could have been food poisoning or something like that?

I was thinking that as well. Clearly something didn't agree with me. But it was just usual tea and the muffins that I've been making for well over a year. I use a pancake mix. Not expired. I ended up tossing the muffins anyway. just because the thought of them now? I'm going to need a break. :)

The bbq the night before was steak-no sauce and steamed broccoli. So I can't see it being that. I honestly have no clue. It was the oddest thing. And THANK GOD I was home. I made a mess on the carpet. I was taken completely by surprise and never made it to the bathroom. Oh well. I needed to scrub the carpet anyway. :)
