Good Sunny Saturday Morning weekenders!

They said it was going to happen, but I didn't believe them!but here we are, seeing the sun for the first time in ages!

Im about to take the dog out for a nice long walk! Spring has finally sprung for here in Ottawa.

busy weekend ahead, today I want to check out a flea market, then getting together with friends. Tomorrow I'm going to a first communion, then Getting together with a friend. All good stuff!

what do you all have planned?

qotd: what's your favorite outdoor activity? Are you a gardener? Like hiking? Maybe sitting in the shade with a good book? Grilling all the day long, bumming on a beach? What gets you up and out of the house on a sunny day?

Menu:

B: coffee and premier

the rest of the day is a bit up in the air, to be honest. Might go out for brunch or lunch. It will be protein forward, but no idea where I'll end up.

dinner at friends tonight will also be protein forward. I'm not sure what they are serving, but they always have meats and veg!

have a good one !

QOTD: Bumming on a beach. With a capital B for bum. I try to go to a Caribbean beach resort every year or two and for the life of me I just don't understand the folks that choose to lay around by the pool. You can do that in Phoenix!

Mornin' All!

I had my second PS consult in Chicago yesterday. We're now in a hotel in one of the 'burbs. We'll bum around here today and head back up north later this afternoon or this evening. Food is up-in-the-air again as we're away from home and on the road, but I'll make good choices - and I do have a couple of protein bars with me if there aren't any decent choices!

accountability was great yesterday! I also did a lot of walking around the city.

QOTD: I love eating or drinking coffee al fresco (as long as it's not too hot, humid, or buggy!!). I also love being near water. We don't have any oceans around here, but we do have a lot of lakes!

2 years 10 months out:

B: Greek yogurt, 2 T walnuts, strawberries & blueberries

MS: coffee with half & half, protein shake

L: ??

D: ??

It's supposed to be a nice day here too and I'm thrilled! DH and I are getting started on a pretty big landscaping project--building raised garden bed boxes into a sloped part of our yard. We will likely try to get them build and dig in and leveled this weekend, then fill them with topsoil the next weekend we have free which will be in 2 weeks (I have an out of town photography job next weekend). This year I'm putting my 14 tomato plants in those beds, but next year when we sell the house I'll just plant some pretty perennials and shrubs for curb appeal, as we are on a corner lot so all of this is visible from the street.

qotd: I feel like it's fairly obvious now but my favorite outdoor activity is gardening! It's so rewarding to have a visual sign of your hard work...and you know...You can eat it :P

Im making a fairly hearty breakfast of turkey bacon and eggs this morning before we head out to get the lumber for the beds, since I have a feeling once we've gotten started we may not stop to eat solid food. Likely a protein shake at some point during the day, and dinner will be an apple Gouda chicken sausage from Costco.

Have a great spring day!

Happy Saturday... I don't believe it.. There is this thing in the sky I have not seen in a long long time... I think they call it the sun? Today is a busy day I need to get groceries and then I need to go do some shopping I need to go find a couple outfits for my daughters graduation weekend coming up on Mother's Day weekend and also find her a graduation present.

QOTD: My favorite outdoor activity is going to the races... I am looking forward to and already planning going a lot more this summer. My dad has started working on and sponsoring a local car so I want to go and make sure his investment is being spent wisely.... Nothing like sitting in a dust bowl on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night... It is my happy...

Food for the day:

B: Coffee and eggs w/ Canadian bacon

Lunch and dinner I am unsure of because we will be out and about shopping....

Have a great day friends...

Happy Saturday! It is sunny here too and is supposed to warm up especially tomorrow and the following days.

I have my class reunion tonight (the main reason we came back from Florida this early), then will be walking with Justice on the beach tomorrow. I'm still getting my house in order along the way, but it is in pretty good shape on the main levels now (we aren't going to talk about the lower level where DS resides...).

Thanks for the advice on Justice and the pee pads. For now I guess we will just continue taking him out frequently and praising him for doing his business outside but not make an issue when he uses the pads inside. As someone put it, he is just following pack behavior and we can't expect him to follow different rules from the other dog member of the pack.

QOTD: Walking - on the beach or in any other pretty spot (minor hikes but not the mountainous type). Also, lying on the beach and swimming.

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna with pickles and cottage cheese

D & S: No idea - will be at the class reunion

I'm sure he will. He has been sniffing everything with great joy in his new neighborhood. He already knows the house (turns into the driveway on our way back from a walk).

Good morning weekenders! I've been up for quite a while but just stopping by.

I started out with my coffee and doing some telework OT. Trying to add to the plastics fund with a few hours today and tomorrow! I took a break and ran to Trader Joe's for the weekly stuff. I miss TJ's when I don't get there so I try to do at least a hop in. They have such great meat and veg and the prices are better on many things than our local grocery.

QOTD: I love to garden but surgery makes the bending and lifting hard. Not sure that I will get much in again this year.

Menu:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, sausage

Snack: Premier Peaches and Cream protein shake, 4 prunes, cashews

Early lunch: turkey breast, baby carrots

Late lunch: Protein shake, ham, apple

Dinner: roast beef, cauliflower

Exercise: hour of swimming, no Aqua Zumba (bummer), maybe a walk in the sunshine this afternoon

Tomorrow I want to get in a long hike since the weather is going to be nice and I will be on exercise restrictions again starting in a few weeks.
