Hello. My name is peggysue and I am new at this. I'm kind of a loner. I haven't got a date for surgery. I will get it on May 2nd and I cant wait. I'm looking forward to surgery. the 1st reason for the surgery is because I am a diabetic and I use insulin 5 times a day and its becoming a real pain. The doctor would like for me to join a online forum because I cant make it to meetings. So here I am! Sorry I am all over the place with all of this, I have read a lot of your comments about being scared but I cant wait for the surgery! I have everything I need down to buying new pj's for this. I like to hear back from some of you on how this surgery was for you and to let me know I have a shoulder if I need. Maybe I could call someone because I have to use the library's computer to look things up and to chat with someone. I will give my phone number.

Welcome to the group! Check in as often as possible. I'm 2 months out from RNY, and already feel a ton better, and off diabetes meds. It's nit an easy road, but I have absolutely no regrets

Welcome!! Like you I was excited about surgery, wasn't scared or nervous. I'm three years out this month. Surgery was what I expected, pain after but manageable. Then I took time to focus of how to nourish my body properly. Read often and post when you need to- someone is always around to answer.

Also no regrets here. It is still hard work but for once in my life I feel like I can be successful.

If you have a cell phone can you access the Internet there? I had shoulder surgery last year and was forced to learn to use my phone, and now I prefer it.
