What's on your menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
Good morning everyone! I rushed out the door after oversleeping this morning. I was up before my alarm yesterday so I turned it off so it wouldn't disturb DH, and forgot to turn it back ON for this morning. And my traitor of a cat FOR ONCE IN HER LITTLE FURRY LIFE was letting me sleep in. The nerve! I do have an item to take a pic of to share for photo Friday, a beautiful brooch my great grandmother gave me as my "something old" on my wedding day. It's also blue, but we weren't sure if it "counted" for one item to be more than one thing for that superstition. Lol she said she would also ask for it back if it could be my something borrowed also :P I'll attach a photo this evening.
QOTD: DH works for LinkedIn, the professional/job networking website and the pay and benefits are amazing so he's been trying to get me in for years now. their interview process is very long starting with a phone interview from someone in their California headquarters before she will move you on to the local hiring manager. I have now interviewed with them several times, and the phone interview is always with the same woman. Melody. The first time I interviewed with her, I called her Melanie. Twice. I was super embarrassed not just that I did it once, but that I did it again!! She laughed it off, but I'm convinced that's why she won't advance my interview. I'm positive that if I could get a face to face interview with my husbands boss, I'd be IN. Only Melody stands in my way!
accountability: switched my planned dinner, I was craving Chinese and opted to make chicken cauliflower "fried rice" as an alternative to takeout. It was mostly chicken, an egg, and light on the cauliflower/veggies, and low sodium soy.
Breakfast: lots of coffee (one cup regular, then the rest is decaf) with Premier Protein as creamer
lunch: leftover chicken fried "rice"
dinner: DH is gone and I'm going to busy myself with playing in the dirt, so I'll probably just grab a tuna packet

I love your chair Daisy!
I have a rocking chair that my mom used for us when we were babies...she gave it to me when I had my daughter. I don't know how old it is but it's definitely sentimental. I have pics of my siblings and I sitting in it when we were little...I couldn't use it for my daughter because well, I barely fit in it and I didn't want to break it! The thought just made me a little excited that I will be able to use that chair again soon!
No big plans for the weekend. DH starts his liquid diet on Sunday and I am going to make him some gouda stuffed meatballs for dinner on Saturday as his "last meal" before no real food for a couple of months LOL...I know he's nervous but I think he has seen from watching me that it really didn't take long for me to start feeling better.
QOTD: I am usually great at interviews, have had a lot of good ones, but there is one I remember that was terrible. I was really excited about this job I applied for through one of those online job sites...careerbuilder or monster.com or something. It was for a "holistic medicine" OB/Midwife office and I was expecting everyone to be like Zen and friendly...the office was full of little trickling fountains and like little Zen gardens and statues. I drove over an hour to get there (I was moving to the area hence why I was looking for another job) and waited half an hour for someone to greet me. When I went in, I was all smiles and friendly, but the woman interviewing me had major RBF and would not crack a smile for the life of her. I remember her asking what hours I was available and I told her I was looking for anything full time. She said "did you even read the job description, this is only for a part time position, you're wasting my time!" and she sighed and basically said thanks, we'll call you...I was dumbstruck. I was so embarassed that I didn't notice that on their job description that I went back to look at it later and it said NOTHING about it being part time on the website I applied through.

B: 3 turkey breakfast sausage links
L: 4-5 mini meatballs w/marinara

The one Old item in my house I kept thinking about was this "BOOK of Science" that DH and I found at a used book store about 8 years ago for like $8. We love books and this one was just such a great collectors item because well...science is COMPLETELY different than it was even 10-20 years ago, let alone 80 years ago which was when this was first published...it's pretty funny reading about the things in this book that have since been proven to be totally incorrect.

G'morning all.
What a BEAUTIFUL rocking chair Daisy.
I've been super busy at work and kinda scarce here. And the funny thing is I've been munching more, which is not good. So I need to be here more and munch less.
QOTD: not really bad interviews but sorta weird. When I first moved to US they told me my accent was an impediment. I had experience and the qualification from all over the world but they said in Silicon Valley my accent would t work. OK, I'll show you. So I went to an accent reduction class for about 3 months. Nowadays nobody realizes I'm a foreigner. And after those classes I didn't have a problem landing a job. I say weird because nowadays in Silicon Valley everybody is from somewhere else but 20 years ago they looked down on my accent.
Accountabilty: meh, but will do better today.

My picture is of a purse. It's my granma's. My grandma was the original socialite in Europe. She and her cousin would go all over Europe partying in the early 1930s. They would go to
Belgium for a dog race, then show up in London for a club opening and then back to Rome for a fashion show. She was quite a party girl. I can just picture her. She died when she turned 90 but up to the last day her hair was always done and her outfits always fashionable. I know this clutch is not PC (it's made of alligator or snake skin...don't know which) but I love all the history it holds. Who knows how many countries it has travelled to and what it has seen. Because all the stories we kids heard from grandma were PG but my mom tells us she was wild! LOL

Hello everyone,
I'm sad this is my last vacation day off but plan on really enjoying it by shopping!
Accountability: I was right on track yesterday and the scale rewarded me for it! Yay! Still have a few more pounds to go to get back to my comfort range but I'm confident I can do this. So hard getting back on after I've been off.
QOTD: I was interviewing for a music teaching job in Detroit in 1986. I'm primarily a singer and flute player. I walked in and they told me to sit at the piano and sight read the music on the stand. While I can be serviceable at playing piano it's not my forte and certainly reading pieces at site aren't. As I finished they thanked me for coming in and told me that they were not interested. Oh well.

Good morning and TGIF everyone!! I am so ready to get through today and start the weekend. My hospital's support group meets tomorrow and I'm actually home and get to go..which also means I get to stop by my favorite bookstore which is nearby and then I have two phone calls scheduled for Sunday to catch up with dear friends.....as well as a mountain of laundry to do so it's not all sunshine and roses, lol.
Accountability - on track! I was so proud of myself at my old boss's retirement dinner last night, I wasn't even tempted by the baby bundt cakes....although I did have to move the fresh from the oven cornbread away from my side of the table...it was better that way!
QOTD: Not an odd one but a very short one....I was interviewing within my company for a management role in a department that I knew nothing about. When I went in for the interview the hiring VP was on the phone and I listened to his half of the conversation and realized that I had been the tester for the system he was having issues with (not related to the role I was interviewing for); I indicated him to put the call on mute and told him what he needed to do and who the person he needed to get involved was; he told the person on the other end everything I said, hung up the call and asked when I could transition!

Photo friday -- I love the pictures of everyone's rockers, furniture and the amazing sentimental memories. The oldest thing in my house is this rock -- and the fossil inside it. When we went to Morocco a few years ago, we stayed in the Sahara for 3 days and one of our stops, I saw this giant rock with a bunch of little shell fossils in it from when the Sahara was under the ocean. I am vey much a leave things where you find it person and admired it, took pictures and left it. The day we left the camp, one of the porters gave me this piece of it -- they had broken it down for me since I had been so excited. I was a little horrified because that shouldn't happen, cools things should stay for everyone to see...but because they had already done it I did bring it home with me and it's on one of my bookshelves so I can see it every day!

Hello everyone,
Great pics everybody!
I will try post a pic tonight.
This weekend I will be helping to empty out my SIL's hoarding house. We have done at least 50 runs to the dump and Good Will so far. We have also filled a 30 yard dumpster(the biggest you can get) and have only almost finished emptying the garage!! Hopefully we can start on the inside of the house this weekend. It's supposed to be ok weather so I'm hoping get some good grilling time in as well.
QOTD: I have been lucky enough to not have any bad job interviews. Except when I graduated high school and wanted to go into the Coast Guard. I weighed about 260 lbs so you could imagine the look on the recruiters face when I asked. I will say he was very nice about it though.
Accountability: 100% on plan but didn't all of my lunch and snacks.
B:2eggs, 1/2 slice of cheese, turkey breakfast sausage
L: 3oz turkey
S: 2oz turkey
D: ?? but it will be protein and broccoli rabe
S:?
Enjoy the rest of your day everybody!
