mostly a drive-by because I want to be out of the house in an hour, and I've still got a lot to do. Heading for Chicago this morning for a PS consult with Dr. Shifrin. We'll be home sometime tomorrow (DH wants to do some things in the area while we're there - fine by me!)
accountability was good, but weight was the same as yesterday. Boo. Hopefully it'll start heading down again by the end of the weekend.
QOTD: the only one that really sticks out is one I had about 20 years ago at another large public Midwestern university (who shall remain nameless). They asked me a lot of really off-the-wall questions, many of which weren't related to the job (or at least from what I could tell). I wasn't prepared for them at all, but I think i handled them OK for the most part, esp given the situation. I'm guessing they were trying to assess if I could think on my feet (??). At any rate, I didn't get the offer, and if I had, I'm not sure I'd have taken the job because I was really bothered by the interview. I don't think some of these people realize an interview works both ways...
not sure what I'll be eating today since we'll be on the road and/or in the city, but I'm really going to try to stay on plan
2 years 10 months out
B: homemade Greek yogurt, homemade blueberry sauce
MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake

Hope your travels and consult go well!

ok found a pic- i don't know where anything is in this house so even if I had old stuff which I do, i cannot locate it. it is actually driving me bonkers. There are a few things, I have an old lace handkerchief that was my grandmothers. I carried it on my wedding day wrapped around my bouquet. We also have this lounge chair that was my grandfathers- it is from the 1960's. they would come measure you at your house and make this custom chair for you. it was green vinyl with clear plastic over it. it had a built in massager and heater also. my stepmother recovered it in tan fabric and when they moved, i got it. here is what it looks like except fabric not leather.
food was good yesterday, scale dropped 3 pounds in the past 2 days. whipped cream watch has been a success, havent had any still and I really wanted some. I realize this is a coping mechanism and i need to remind myself to do something else that is 'soothing' and not destructive.
food for today:
rotis chicken/spinach/shiritaki noodles
protein pancakes
coffe/pp
not sure on dinner yet
gym after work- last day of my anytime fitness trial. i think i will join this one. very low key and i dont feel dumb doing the free weights. you know how some gyms the men stare at you if you go to the more 'weight lifting' sections? you know- it is more open- etc-this doesn't happen here. plus i can go in either town i choose to- and some have live classes also. its $30 a month with my work discount. I still may join the other one with the gym because DH NEEDS to do aqua fit for his back and for $40 we both can go (him as my guest everytime I go) still cheaper than the yoga studio which is over $100
I love that chair and it's many stories. That's why my house is filled with family furniture.
Today it is 36 (40 or so degrees less than when we were in Florida). But the sun is out, the birds are chirping and I'm going to take Justice exploring. Question for you dog people: We have a very elderly dog already in the house who uses doggy pads. Justice was 100% trained, but has already used the pads a few times, as he probably thinks that is appropriate. What should I do???
QOTD: I guess the worst interview, which turned out all right in the end was during a time when I worked for a man who was an extreme chauvinist and didn't like women who were in leadership positions. He inherited my department which I had grown from nothing to 40 people. I needed to move out on the worst way. Another senior manager came into my office and said "I hear you are an opinionated *****! That's exactly what I'm looking for". He had spoken to my boss who told him that (nice, huh!). Anyway, I got the job and never worked for that guy again thank goodness. He was ultimately let go for some transgression a few years later.
2 Years post-op
Always lots of coffee...
B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna with pickles and cottage cheese
D: Shrimp (I didn't have them yesterday as I had a leftover crab cake)
S: mozzarella/prosciutto sticks (if I can find them - I looked in 2 stores near me yesterday and they didn't have them even though I could get them easily in Florida).
As mentioned, every room in my house has furniture from someone in the family. I took the composite picture below without getting off the couch. The striped chair is a refurbished one which came from DH's grandmothers house. The table came from my grandmother's house (with an old oil lamp found in MIL's basement). We have several groupings of pictures from old boxes of photos. The separate picture is a gateleg table I bought a couple of weeks ago for the Florida place. Even though it isn't from our family, I like the added character.
