What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good morning,
i got to sleep in today. Yesterday I think I had a low blood sugar attack, I was sweating to beat the band at Logans and shaking , it got better when I ate a couple of their rolls. Feeling better today.
QOtd I like to talk to some people on the phone especially it's important but if it isn't I'll do the other kinds of ways to communicate. Like my dad, he only uses the phone or email.
I know I'm going to Denny's for breakfast because I'm helping my friend out today. So I don't know what the rest of the day will be.
Have a good day
Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!
Daisy, I agree, I would definitely get a second opinion for your MIL. Keeping her in my prayers.
Not so good news about my little pet pigeon. I've been taking him to the vet for laser treatments on the foot that got caught & bound up in the bedding. His foot is still gray and not pink like it's supposed to be. Today the vet said the toes are getting stiff and brittle and he's afraid Pigie is going to lose the foot. I am profoundly sad about this. If it comes down to him losing his foot, I don't know if he will be able to manage with only one foot. I am thinking it might be kinder to put him down, rather than expect him to try and live with only one foot, especially given his advanced age. But I've had him for over 20 years and I love him SO much and I just can't imagine losing him. When I came home from the vet I wanted to eat my feelings, but instead I curled up and slept (my other coping mechanism).
QOTD: I really dislike phone calls and I usually let my answering machine pick up all calls. Usually they are telemarketers anyway. I am a dinosaur who doesn't own a cell phone, so no texting for me. I am on the computer a lot, so I IM people and email them.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 98, Calories - 1,430, Carbs - 175.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana
L: ham & cheese on 45 calorie bread, light & fit Greek yogurt
D: chicken stir fry, light & fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, 2 Atkin's peanut butter cups
E: Walking Blossom around the subdivision
Have a GREAT day everyone!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!
Daisy, I too would seek a second opinion. 77 is not terribly old, certainly too young to be consigned to a life of suffering. I hope you all will find another, better approach so that your MIL can be comfortable.
It's a spectacularly gorgeous day here! I'll take a photo of my beautiful cherry tree, hopefully it will do it at least a little justice.
QOTD: Maybe it's my age, but I definitely prefer phone calls to texts. I will text, but it isn't as nice. I like to hear peoples voices, and in general feel closer to them on the phone than via text. Texting has its place, but all in all to me it's one further step removed from being close to others, and I like feeling closer. Emails are fine, but still not as enjoyable as actually talking and listening. All that I've written, above, refers mostly to contact with friends and family. For business communications, emails or calls are fine; it's relatively rare that a business contact texts me. I'm just not that into texting in general. I work at home by and for myself. If I worked in a crowded environment and was constantly besieged by calls, or was simply feeling overloaded by being around too many demanding people, I might feel differently. As it is, I welcome my contacts with others.
Accountability: I was a little hungry yesterday and did have an extra small meal after dinner, but had nothing I shouldn't have consumed, and even with the extra, my calories were still just 630. I have stayed the same weight exactly for 6 days now, except for one day when it dipped a pound, then came back up. Hopefully I'll see some nice downward movement soon!
First: tea!
B: ham and smoked gouda
L: Greek yogurt with a little Cinnamon Buns protein powder stirred in
D: meatloaf
Have a great day my friends!
