Accountability: Slipped a bit the past few days but WILL get back on track.

B: decaf +Chocolate PP for a modified chocolate latte

L: chicken breast and some veggies

S: Greek LnF yogurt w/ 1/2 scoop peanut butter protein powder

Good morning menu folks! I hope you are all well.

Daisy, I am sorry to hear that this may continue to happen for your MIL. Hopefully they can get her pain under control and she can rest.

Yesterday was a lovely day outside and I got out and did a 3.5 mile walk at lunch down to the memorials. It was nice to be out in the sunshine and moving.

QOTD: I don't like to talk on the phone and am adjusting to texting more. I prefer email because I can go back and reread what was said if I'm not sure later.

Menu:

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, turkey sausage

Snack: Cappuccino protein shake, apple, almonds

Lunch: fish, brussels sprouts

Snack: turkey breast, string cheese

Dinner: BBQ chicken breast

Exercise: I'd like to walk at lunch again but there may be rain... Maybe an hour of swimming this evening.

Happy Thursday!! So glad the end of the week is in sight!

Accountability - yesterday was a day that showed me how quickly things can get off track; had some work issues come up and had to visit a few sites and next thing I knew it was 2pm and only had 11 oz fluid and still hadn't had any food past breakfast. I was able to at least catch up on protein but ended way low on fluids.

QOTD - text but one of my new years ideas was to talk more to people and I do about one long chatty phone call every other week, with different people-- and surprisingly everyone is loving it!

B: coffee + premier and Fage

S: Coffee + Premier

L: cheese stick

S: protein water

D: have to go to a retirement dinner for one of my old bosses, I looked at the menu and I think I will be having a cup of green chile. It's not my favorite but looks to be the best option!

Totals: 486 calories, 69 protein and 29 carbs

Your poor MIL. Flu on top of it all is not fair!

We are home. I can't find anything because it was either moved by my son or I can't remember where I left it. I think it will be quite a few days before it feels like home again. Justice did great - not a sound in his 8 hours in the travel bag (and no messes). He has eaten well twice and slept well and is cuddled on my lap in the sunroom. Apparently the transition will be fine for him!

QOTD: Txt or email preferably. When I HAVE to talk to someone it drives me crazy when it takes level after level of phone menus to get to a human... I also hate when some companies offer a "contact us" email, but never respond so I have to call anyway.

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: Tuna with pickles and cottage cheese

D: Shrimp (I think - have to go shopping)

S: mozzarella/prosciutto sticks

So happy that Justice made it to his new home safely and smoothly. He has a wonderful furever home!

Good morning :)

Daisy, I would definitely go for the second opinion. When my great-aunt was about 80 they started saying that to her -- they even told her to get her affairs in order because she had about six months to live after her lung cancer returned. She lived to 88. I feel like that's a long time to dismiss quality of life.

Today my grandma and I are off to Costco. I want to take a good look around and see if there is anything different from what I usually get. I love their turkey pepperettes, but they are currently off the menu. Deli meats and soft cheeses aren't recommended. DH isn't helpful because he just wants olives lol.

QOTD: I was actually just thinking about this the other day. I was on the phone making an appointment. I think for things like that I prefer a phone call, but for chit-chat I prefer text or messenger. I do love talking on the phone with my grandma though :)

Post-op three years, one month.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - PB sandwich

Lunch - TBD might try a restaurant after Costco

Snack - Greek yogurt

Dinner - leftover meatloaf and pureed soup

Snack - fake cheesecake

All water and vits.

hi i prefer either email or text or IM. I'm not sure but it seems so hard to talk on the phone. yesterday i started work really early because I couldn't sleep so I left 8 or so hours later and got to run a few errands. we ended up at lowes and getting roasted wings at shanes. we came back here and I worked int he yard. the drywall is almost finished inside so we will be able to start painting and getting house back together- still no bears....

I did fairly well on food - no crazy binges and still no whipped cream even though i got an iced SF coffee at starbucks yesterday. man that was hard, DH got a chocolate PB cup cookie and that was for some reason LESS HARD. strange...

food for today:

coffee/PP

water

dr praegers fish patties

shiritaki noodles

not sure on dinner yet

we're buried in snow this morning - DH just came in from shoveling. It's supposed to be in the 40s today and the 50s tomorrow, so this stuff won't be around long. I hope not - I have to go to Chicago tomorrow...

did better yesterday, but not great. Still, I was down a pound this morning. Thank God. I need to really work on this the next few days. I can't believe how easy it is for my weight to start heading north - YIKES!

QOTD: I *hate* talking on the phone. The only time it's OK is when I'm trying to set up an appt - it's quicker and easier than having several emails going back & forth. Otherwise, it's text or email every time. I like to respond to things when I have the time, and when I'm in the right frame of mind, to do it. I find the phone (and IM) too disruptive - they catch me off guard all the time.

2 years 10 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, homemade blueberry sauce

MS: coffee with half & half, Miralax/protein shake

L: cottage cheese

AS: L&F yogurt or crustless protein pumpkin pie

D: pulled pork
