Yeah, I'm kind of used to her she just has kind of a loud, boisterous, teasing personality. It's never been anything offensive, and I'm sure once I tell her it crossed a line she will probably be horrified that she made me feel bad. I don't think it will need to go to HR

Already done, she apologized and said after I explained why I was upset, she realized that it was a definite issue, she crossed a line bordering on medical confidentiality and she's glad I brought it up. I told her I didn't mind a bit of lighthearted joking because I'm comfortable with most of my coworkers on my team, but calling me out in a more public setting where many of the employees in line were NOT people on my team who know about my situation was uncomfortable.

Anyway. It went well, and we're cool.

I would be so mad at your boss.

First of all this "policing" is so weird. Aren't we all adults?

Second, in which universe it's OK to comment on somebody's food intake? Whether you had surgery or not.

Don't let anybody food shame you.

Unfortunately, there's been too many incidents where the first people took too much, and there wasn't much left for latecomers. So now they have to specify how many pieces of whatever we are "allowed" until everyone has been through the line, then the call for seconds is a bit more of a free for all, but they usually have someone in there replacing items that run out and such. I guess even adults in groups act like children.
