Morning everyone!

Someone on FB posted a quote yesterday that was very fitting. "I'm perfectly fine with Caitlyn Jenner identifying as a woman, but April Identifying as January is not acceptable"...am I right?
yeah- the sheet of ice covering my driveway prevented me from leaving my house yesterday at all. Instead, my hubby and I spent the day cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen which were definitely due for a heavy duty scrub down. Then I took the opportunity to make a somewhat complex meal of spinach artichoke dip stuffed chicken breasts- wrapped in bacon...it was heavenly. I am cooking low carb for the whole family but since DH is due to start his liquid diet next week and won't be eating solid food for a few months, I'm trying to make it exciting for him LOL.

QOTD: I don't think of myself as something I love usually...I guess it sounds kind of conceited to include myself on a list that I am sharing with other people. Maybe I am not really at that point yet where I can say I honestly love myself either. I am working on it...I think I just love too many things to think myself would even be in the top 5? my favorite quote is from VanGogh- "Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well." DH used to tease me when we first started dating that he felt like I over-used the word "Love" because I said I loved everything...but it's kind of true. I like to express my enjoyment and I don't think Love can be overused. I think he just thought my saying "I love you" to him might have had diminished feeling because I also said "I love Magnum PI" or "I love this song", etc. lol...

Morning: coffee w/caramel PP
B: Oikos triple zero yogurt, banana cream
L: leftover turkey curry meatballs
D: crab salad
S: string cheese

have a wonderful day everyone!

Good Morning! Daisy, I am glad that you are doing so well with your back fingers crossed that you get released to exercise soon as I know you are missing it.

We had a pretty relaxing weekend. We did walk around a block sale for a little while on Saturday morning and I took Em to get her hair done yesterday. All three of us are suffering from allergies and they hit my hubby the worst. Temps over the weekend were pretty warm, rain today and then we are expecting almost 90 degrees early next week.

Accountability:Pretty typical weekend with an added snack here and there.

Good morning! The weekend wasn't bad, though I was beginning to think I'd need to grow gills for my commute this morning. My rain gauge said just shy of 5" of rain from Friday until Monday a.m. That is an insane amount of water/snow/ice to have come down. We've never had a flooded basement where I'm at (knock on wood) but I am one of those guys that loses sleep over that sort of thing. Not that I can stop it, I just dread it. I'm so done with this crap now, it's ridiculous. I need winter to be done and warmth to happen. These May flowers better be amazing, is all I can say. LOL

I'm headed to Mississauga, ON tomorrow for some training and I'm hoping the drive is good. The weather forecast says there will be a trace of snow, which I don't mind driving. I just hope the MDOT boys are out with their trucks to salt things down.

I made it to the gym, and bench pressed more than I weigh for the first time ever, I think. On the 5th time, I might have...ahem...purged some air, and might have also laughed so much I couldn't do a 6th rep. It was pretty funny, and I'm glad I had a spotter with a sense of humour. I tend to stick to cardio and core stuff and only lift when I feel like it, so that was a welcome surprise. I have had a few old-drummer-related arm issues and soft tissue damage to work through so I'm surprised I could even bench with form.

Menu: B: protein bar and a coffee (surprise)! MS: cheese stick and a small granny smith apple. L: 1/2 cup cottage cheese with cucumber slices AS: same as MS . Supper: Unknown but maybe just a shake. It's drum lesson night, and the little minions in my drum army start showing up at 6.

QOTD: I missed the picture thing, but I don't have many pics of me, even as a youngster. As I got older, I shied away from the camera a lot and tended to be either the guy behind the camera, or magically disappeared from shots like a vampire. Maybe I'll dig through my parents' old pictures and find a few, but I know there aren't a lot. We also didn't have a lot of money left over at the end of the month for things like photo development, so there's that. I CAN take a pic of some old stuff in my house though. Will try to remember that.

G'morning all!

Happy Monday. Let's hope the weather cooperates and spring makes a showing. We had some rain drizzle but nothing as bad as most of you guys. We actually appreciate the rain here.

QOTD: is it too melodramatic to say that I do love my family more than myself? I guess as a mom you would give your life for your kid. So the two first items on my list were spot on. After that maybe I should have put myself on the list but then you come across narcissistic, maybe it's just the way we were raised not to put oneself ahead of the others. I don't know...but a great question to ponder during the week.

Accountability: fair. Had too many yogurts when I wanted something else, so that's why I say fair.

B: protein shake

L: the LAST of pulled pork (this batch lasted me two weeks)

S: turkey & cheese

D: spaghetti sauce without the pasta

Have great day everyone!

Happy Monday Everyone! This was my birthday weekend, so my friends surprised me with a dinner out. I have not really been out to eat since my surgery (about 10 weeks out). I made pretty good choices (tuna and veggies). But, I had a glass of wine, and was quickly tipsy! It was my first drink of alcohol, and I am pretty sure that it will be my last for quite some time.

QOTD: I think I am in the process of loving myself, but it's a challenge to think that way. It's a journey.

Today's Menu...

B. 1/2 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt. 1 tsp cocoa nibs. 1/4 cup blueberries.

M.S. Light string cheese

L. 2oz deli turkey. 1 tsp yellow mustard. 1/4 cup blueberries.

A.S. Clementine

D. 3oz chicken breast. Tomatillo and jalapeño salsa.

E.S. Sugar Free Popsicle
