Menu Friends! How are you all, how was your weekends? Thank you all for your wonderful kid pics, you are all so awesome, I loved seeing you all as little ones! We got walloped with a nasty snow & ice storm all weekend, started Friday afternoon and didn't let up until late late Sunday which then turned into rain so now its a skating rink all over the streets. SIGH when will we ever get Spring... Had a good weekend, physio for my back is going well and my PT said he thinks he will release me to work out next week, fingers crossed.

Accountability: truth be told I struggle SO HARD on weekends. Having 24/7 access to my kitchen is not a good thing. Boredom = food for me. There was a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal "incident," will just leave it at that.

QOTD: So on Friday I asked you all to list 5 things you love. This was a bit of a social experiment. My therapist did this with me a few weeks ago, asked me to write 5 things love, so I did. She then read my answers and said to me "how come you never listed yourself?" "You don't love yourself?" Well that sure was a head scratcher!!!! Damn therapists making me think So I ask you all this why did you not put yourself down on your list of 5 things you love?

Time since surgery: 4 yrs + 5 mos

B: lots & lots of decaf + vanilla PP used as creamer then Activia yogurt

L: chicken & marina sauce with lots of Parmesan cheese

S: red pepper & laughing cow cheese (I use the red pepper like a "spoon")

D: grilled chicken strips over mixed salad greens + balsamic dressing

S: GNC vanilla protein shake with half a banana & lactose free milk

TOTALS: MFP was down all weekend and today, if I can get in I will update my totals later

V: PatchMD patches are on + extra oral Dry D3 and extra oral B12

E: still resting my back

Have a great day all!

Photo Friday idea: Post a pic of something in your house that is really old. Could be something given to you by a Grandparent/Parent, could be an antique you bought, could be something you found on a hike. Get creative!

Good morning! The weather is crazy up north this year. I hope it is out of its system by the time we go home in 2 days! Our weekend was good with a boat trip on Saturday and some productive packing etc. yesterday.

Accountability: Not terrible but a couple of slips over the weekend which I need to NOT repeat for a while as I am at the very top of my weight range. It may be a CAMAW week for me.

QOTD: I wasn't on my list of what I love because I don't feel that my love for myself exceeds the other things possibly...maybe because I don't think I'm important enough to put on that list? Thought-provoking for sure. Like many, I have always put my family's needs before mine. Even when I had WLS it was to be healthy enough to be around longer. The one time over the last few years when I did something purely for myself was PS. And I feel slightly guilty over that...

2 Years post-op

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese

L: Deli turkey

D: fish (out to dinner)

S: Yogurt and/or mozzarella/prosciutto sticks

Morning!

Its a freezing cold day here, too. Have I mentioned that I am so over being cold. Honestly, I'm not sure if I even like coffee, I just like the hot beverage. (Jk I also like coffee)

A: good! I fought the temptation to eat some "healthy" trigger foods. I bought some Atkins prepackaged peanut and chocolate snacks to eat at a movie, but got there and decided to just give the entire box to my friend.

QOTD: ooooh love the sneaky self reflection. Hmm I think I didn't list myself because loving things outside of ourselves is what gives us value. If I didn't have anything to love outside of me, then am I even able to love myself? The things we love anchor our identity so that we can then in turn have a self identity to love. Lol hard to explain.

Ok but in all honesty, I just didn't think to say me

M:

  1. Premier and Coffee
  2. Yogurt mix
  3. Beef, broccoli, red pepper stir fry
  4. Whatever of that I can't eat
  5. Blueberry and Strawberry "cheesecake" (basically 1 oz of fat free cream cheese and 1 equal package mixed with fruit, I tell myself it tastes just like real cheesecake)

Yesterday was snowy and miserable here so I spent the day in my pajamas, doing laundry and watching Netflix and The Greatest Showman, which I purchased.

qotd: wow, that is crazy. I guess because I never think about myself, and if I do, I feel selfish.

Accountability: I took an afternoon nap, didn't feel like cooking, so I just had a protein shake instead of my planned meal.

Breakfast: LonoLife protein coffee, then switching to decaf with a Premier as creamer

lunch: turkey chili

dinner: the salmon pinwheels I didn't make yesterday

Did you love The Greatest Showman? I honestly think it was my favorite movie from last year and I listen to the soundtrack probably way too much. The music just makes me happy.

I LOVE IT! Lol we saw it in theaters twice, I have the soundtrack memorized, and I rushed to buy it as soon as I could. I'll probably watch it regularly :)

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!

We had a huge blizzard all day Saturday which dumped a lot of snow and blew it into big drifts. Fortunately some of it melted yesterday and I'm hoping more will melt today.

Today I have to drive 2 hours to Lincoln for a biopsy on a persistant sore on the inside of my cheek. The dentist is pretty sure it's just from me biting my cheek, but wants to have it biopsied just to be safe. Not looking forward to 4 hours in the car driving.

QOTD: That is an interesting question, Daisy. I like myself, but do I LOVE myself... I don't know. I guess so, I might as well, I'm the only me I have. LOL. Like Liz, I did RNY so that I would be around longer for my daughter and so she wouldn't have to go through the pain of losing her mom (like I had just gone through) any sooner than she has to.

Accountability: I still can't get myfitnesspal to work for me, but I think I did pretty well yesterday.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, banana, light & fit Greek yogurt

L: ham & cheese on 45 calorie bread

D: Healthy choice microwave meal

S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt

Have a great day everyone!

I chew on the inside of my cheek, too - just a nervous habit, I guess. It drives my dental hygienist crazy, but not the dentist - he does it himself!

I apparently do it in my sleep. They suggested I wear a bite guard for grinding your teeth, but I don't like to wear it. It does help when I do wear it, though.
