What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
morning weekenders!
So, how cute is everyone?? I loved all the kid pics! In keeping with the theme:
qotd: what's a super vivid memory you have from your early childhood??
Mine is from when I was 3.5 years old. My dad and one of my aunts brought me with them to pick my mom and newly born sister up from the hospital. But that's not the memory.
on the way there, we stopped at McDonald's. And the Hamburgler was there. I was hiding in the booth, and popped my head up at the same time as him, and he scared the life out of me hahahah. He felt terrible.
didnt scare me off McDonald's though...
whats everyone up to today? We're supposed to get some nasty weather, so I'll stick close to home. And do some cooking. I have a chicken to roast, and some pork too. If it's not too terrible out, maybe sneak out to watch a movie.
Menu:
B: coffee and premier
L: leftover shawarma meat I think.
D: roast chicken and some kind of veg
S: Greek yogurt
now, for another coffee, and catching up on the weeks posts!
have a good one!

Good morning! I agree that the kid pictures were adorable!
Accountability: Terrible! I snacked like crazy at the last dance of the season at the clubhouse. But I did dance a lot...
QOTD: I remember when we moved to Pennsylvania when I was about 3 (about the time of that picture). My brother and I wandered off while our parents were supervising the movers. My brother who was about 6 didn't panic like I did when we kept finding ourselves in the same place but not finding the new house. He just said that we should sit on the curb and someone would find us. He was right: our parents came eventually (probably wasn't too long).
I'm repeating my menu from yesterday as I didn't really follow it but will today.
2 Years post-op
Always lots of coffee...
B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Fish (out to lunch)
D: leftover chicken fajita innards
S: Yogurt and/or mozzarella/prosciutto sticks

Mornin'!
Working all day today - boo! Going to an early morning yoga class before going in. Feeling bloated this morning and my weight is up a pound - must be sodium. I'll be slamming fluids today...
QOTD: I remember walking around our block all the time with the little girl who lived next door (we were the same age). We walked around that block *all the time*. I remember a lot of walks in the rain - and also one when we were talking about how dumb teenagers were (we were like 7). Ha!
2 years 10 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, homemade cherry/cranberry sauce
MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax vanilla chai shake
L: cottage cheese
AS: cheese stick, beef jerky
D: Moroccan chickpea soup
Good morning! I'm up earlier than I prefer on a Saturday because I volunteered to go to work for a bit. I'm in the financial industry and we are super busy with people trying to get things set up before tax day.
we are supposed to get freezing rain and snow, so I'm hoping it waits until later if it's going to get nasty on the roads.
DH and I are also going to a Mystery Science Theater-esque live movie riff at our local theater tonight. The "Mads" AKA Frank Conniff and Trace Beaulieu will be here in person riffing on a bad old movie. It will be fun!
QotD: nothing specific that stands out, but a lot of memories of being at my great grandmas house before she developed Alzheimer's. She had a slip n slide for us in the summer and was always willing to play pretend with us. She also tended a huge garden and I'm sure that's where my gardening affinity came from. She passed when I was 14, and left her house to my mom. My mom had to sell a few years ago because the house was too big for just her to maintain since us kids were all out. It was heartbreaking for everyone.
accountability: nothing bad but the only thing I ate from my planned menu was lunch. I drank coffee all morning, and gave my breakfast to a coworker who'd forgotten his lunch. He's a body builder and eats protein, low carb and none of our cafeteria options pleased him. So I gave him my "crack an egg" bowl and my egg, and it made his day! Then for dinner, with the impending bad weather, I made a pot of turkey chili instead of my salmon.
Breakfast: I haven't been wanting solids in the morning, so along with my coffee I'd better have a protein shake.
Lunch: more turkey chili
dinner: likely something at the theater. It's an Alamo Drafthouse, and they serve actual entrees. Last time I had a burger without a bun, so maybe I'll do that again

Lol it wasn't a big deal--by the time he was wanting something for lunch, I'd already been filling up on coffee with Premier, so I wasn't going to eat it anyway :P and I still had MY lunch in my bag.

Morning!
Its a cloudy day here, but the birds are chirping and everything just feels more alive. Love it!
I'm grabbing coffee with a friend. He'll take me back to campus so I can meet with another friend. We are going to go see the quiet place and buy some new clothes for our Social Work interviews. The professors who do the interviews are very strict, some people have actually cried during it.
QOTD: as a kid my older cousin and younger sister would always play that we were orphaned siblings with magical powers. We would go into my grandmas basement and sort through her chest of toys and dress up and then develop our characters. We got really into it. Haha such weirdos.
