Insurance approval and surgery date

I have received insurance approval and have my surgery scheduled for May 8th. 8 months ago it seemed like a long time, but honestly, it has flown by. I just hope that I've prepared myself enough mentally for this. I am totally on board with my decision, it's the food addiction issues I'm worried about. I have changed my eating to low carb, high protein, and am working on not drinking too soon after meals and certainly not with meals. I have read this forum faithfully so I can see ups and downs you all have gone through and will continue to look her for support.

Thanks everyone for "putting yourselves out there" for the benefit of others. I appreciate it!

Congrats. Dieting gets real easy in the initial post-surgery phase. Then you lose a ton of weight and hopefully get those good nutritional habits set in stone. Good luck!

I cancelled my surgery three times before actually going through with it and a lot of it was because I was scared about my food addiction. I was so nervous to never have my favorite foods again and always asking myself is it really worth it? I am telling you - it is worth it - it is the best thing I have ever done in my entire life. The short term discomfort of getting used to everything is totally and completely worth the outcome. At my heaviest I was 337 pounds and right now I am at 180. I wouldn't change it for the world. Your food addictions will be kept at bay when you are losing weight and feeling so much better about yourself. My surgeon saved my life in so many different ways.

Thanks for sharing. Hard part during the 6 months of supervised dieting was coming to the realization that I have addictions. Now I'm like, hello!
