Craving Chocolate!!
Really? I was super convinced that I would die without having chocolate. But, thanks to your insightful response, I am all set now.

Ha! That is funny! Seriously though, if you can avoid trigger foods, you will be so much better off. Over time, we all think we can beat the system and be different from others and I found even when I use low fat/low carb/low calorie substitutes, it just makes me want more.
I do occasionally have a sweet delite hot chocolate 25 calorie swiss miss with fairlife ff milk. I find it very satisfying but chocolate isn't all that tempting to me. I am a 'bread" girl!! LOVE bread!!

Hey I like chocolate too. All I'm saying is giving into cravings this early out is a very slippery slope.

1 ounce chocolate fairlife, 7 ounces fairlife skim. Just make sure you have enough carbs, calories, etc in your plan for it!

I read a post that led me to "the world according to eggface" blog with recipes. She has several "chocolate" recipes. My favorite has been the chocolate mini muffins. They are low calorie but tasty and MINI!

She has chocolate cake recipes. I don't use the Arrowhead mills protein baking mix, I use Kodiak cakes protein baking mix. (yes there are carbs, but not too many). I can have 2 mini muffins for a snack in the afternoon. I freeze the rest so I can have them throughout the week. You could also take them to work and share with others. I use unsweetened applesauce instead of canola oil. (more moist) Be careful not to overcook.

I put a teaspoon of cocoa powder in with my yogurt and a few drops of stevia. Or I add the sugar free chocolate syrup to my premier protein shake.

Honestly, I wouldn't even bring it back into your diet. Push through the cravings. I didnt have sweets for 9 months then tried Halo Top one day. It's been a struggle to not eat junk since. Go for as long as you can without eating foods that don't push you closer to your goal.

Oh do I ever know how you feel. I freaking LOVE chocolate.
I was lucky when I was fresh post op I didn't have any cravings but I found I really "missed food." It was all in my head. Now come one year post op and ALL my sugar and chocolate cravings came back with a vengeance and I have had to fight it tooth and nail since then.
I am a sugar & chocolate addict and someways I want to donate a kidney for a couple of chocolate bars. The struggle is real my friend.
Like many people have said if you can get past the cravings great, do that. If you absolutely can't then try some of these suggestions:
- SF (sugar free) pudding
- freeze a chocolate premier protein in popsicle molds for an "ice cream bar"
- SF jello powder in yogurt
- warm up a chocolate premier protein for a "hot chocolate" and put some SF whip cream on top
- dip some fresh fruit, preferably berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries) in SF whip cream or SF pudding
- Quest protein bars - they have a million flavors, but I hear the chocolate fudge and a mocha one are good
- for sure check out "the world according to Egg Face" she has lots of WLS friendly things to help
Have fun experimenting, but just try and fight it if you can or go easy on the "treats" it is a serious slippery slope my friend, ask me the sugar addict, I am 4.5 yrs out and a day does not go by that I don't want something sugary or chocolaty. The struggle is real and I wish I never did let myself have treats in the last two years because now I want them all the time. I was a food addict before surgery and I still am, I am just a slimmer more fit food addict now.
Best of luck
