Weekend was quiet. Didn't leave the house Saturday and only to church yesterday. I passed my cold onto my hubby. He appreciates it I know yesterday food was on plan until 4:30 This morning when I had a low sugar episode. So had to have cereal. So "front loaded" my calories for today, lol.

QOTD Sleep is good most nights. But if I'm reading a good book I can go past my normal sleep time and it's like I've missed the window and then find it hard to get to sleep. But wait 'til the alarm goes off and I could sleep for couple more hours!

It's a rainy Monday here, so have to find some sunshine somewhere on the internet!

Next time you have a low, try having just a small bit of carb (like 10-15g), and chase it with some protein, like an egg, string cheese, etc.

when I had diabetic lows before, I found that eating a bunch of carbs to fix a low ended up with a HIGH and then I played see-saw all day.

I'm not a doc, just something to try next time :)

When I have had RH, my surgeon recommended crackers and peanut butter...carbs/fat/sugar/protein combo-they do seem to help when I have an episode.

Mornin' All!

back to the grind after a few days of non-routine stuff (surgery consult in Chicago on Thursday, then drove to Des Moines and spent a couple days there (cousin's wedding), back home with my brother in tow. He plans to head back home (to NC) tomorrow, so not still totally back to routine yet, but mostly...)

accountability wasn't the greatest this weekend. Weight up to 149 this morning, but it should start drifting back down once we get back to non-restaurant eating. I"m getting so tired of it!! I suppose we'll all go out again tonight. I'm hoping for a Mexican place so I can have a taco or part of a fajita (meat & veggies only).

QOTD: my sleeping patterns have changed throughout my life, so I don't know if I can attribute it to WLS or not. When I was a young adult, I had a helluva time falling asleep. Now I never have trouble falling asleep. My problem now is if I wake up any time after about 4:00 am, I can't get back to sleep. So I usually end up rolling out of bed around 5:00 or 5:30. It doesn't matter when I go to bed - even midnight - I'm out of bed by 5:00 or 5:30. Although that's fine by me. It's nice having a quiet hour to myself in the mornings.

2 years 10 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with homemade blueberry sauce

MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax vanilla latte shake

L: 1 C tuna salad (made with Greek yogurt) in a Flat-Out wrap

AS: SF pudding with protein powder in it

Good morning. Wow a kid picture. I'll try to find the one that comes to mind. Tough weekend and I image a tough day today. Lots of work pressure, but still doing well. The VP sent an email giving us 2 extra vacation days because we lost our weekend. That's nice. I was saying workplace flexibility was an oxymoron a week ago - when QOTD was words we hate - but maybe they are really trying. Was a nice touch and helped while all the emails were flying around. But I'll admit that accountability wasn't perfect yesterday. I did eat a Kirkland Nut bar and 1 cup of frozen yogurt I hadn't planned during the day. Hey, I'm loving the Costco Spaghetti Squash in a package - a little spendy - but it cooks up great. I made Crab Spaghetti yesterday - it was so good that my wife even took seconds. She doesn't eat a lot of my stuff, so that says something. Thankfully she's eating it because at 1 cup of food per serving - it would last me forever ;) I'm also enjoying TJ frozen crab and Rao's Arrabiatta (sp?) sauce. Got that idea from Eggface I believe. Really tasty and reasonably priced. Keeps forever.

QOTD - I have a cold so I slept in today, but normally i workout M-S; Swim MWF and Spin TThS [M-F up at 3:50am and 5:30 on Saturday; Sunday is lazy day - but I'm generally up early :( } The 3:50 is a killer, but I love getting to the pool and having my pick of lanes. I sleep better post surgery, but that could be because I bought a million dollar bed - Temperpedic Cloud with incline base. It really is a great bed. I swore at the salesman (literally) after he told me to try it out. I had picked a much cheaper bed, but it was night and day different. However, I do get up 3 times a night. Mostly due to bathroom. I've slept that way since I was 3. My parents made me go through all these terrible tests because no "normal" person gets up that many times....Doctor's diagnosis...normal for me. Great! Thanks Mom! I do lots of nighttime rituals and I generally fall asleep fast and get back to sleep fast. I go upstairs at 8pm. Light my aroma candle, TV on only while I'm laying out stuff for the next day or putting clothes away...making myself ready for bed, etc. TV off and music on about 15-30 minutes before I lay down (blow out candle too). Sometimes I read a chapter of a book. Then in bed between 9 and 9:20. I do take 5mg of Melatonin, but probably don't really need it. Works very well for me. I still have my auto cpap, but once I hit goal they're going to re-test me to see if I can dump it.

B- 2 scrambled and 1 sausage

S - 5oz Fage and .5oz mixed nuts

L - 2/3 cup of Thai chicken and small salad

S - 3 oz grilled chicken

D - Leftover Crab spaghetti - The protein is likely below goal, so that's why I'm eating grilled chicken as a snack in the afternoon (got a pkg at TJ - it's actually pretty good). The crab is 4 portion, but the spaghetti is about 8 portions I figured - so that's dropping the protein down for the spaghetti.

S - SF popsicles

good morning everyone!
I woke up this morning to about 2 inches of snow covering my car again! YEESH when is winter going to end!? and it's STILL going. thankfully it's not too cold so I am pretty sure it will melt throughout the day but still! come on!

My weekend was very productive. DH and I spend all saturday afternoon cleaning and rearranging our basement to make a nice workout space. We took a car load of old baby toys and some clothes that are already too big for me to the thrift store. My husband won $5,500 on a scratch off lotto ticket so that was an awesome bonus this weekend too! We are going to use it to pay off some debt and then buy a little TV to put in the basement for our exercise zone. I am finally excited to go down there and USE my elliptical LOL.

QOTD: I have always been a pretty good sleeper. I love sleeping and try to get at least 7-8 hours a night or else I just feel drained all day. I usually am in bed by 10-10:30, sometimes earlier depending on how tired I feel. I get up for work at 6am during the week, but go to bed a bit later on weekends and try to sleep in a bit if my 3 year old lets me (usually she sleeps til 7 or later on the weekdays but for some reason wants to be up before 6 on weekends!). |

Morning- Coffee & 1/2 Caramel PP
B: 1/3 C egg/american cheese/sausage/red pepper scramble
L: leftover Philly cheese steak stuffed mini pepper (I just made up this recipe and it was AMAZEBALLS if anyone likes to cook or is interested let me know and I can share)
D: sausage egg roll in a bowl
S: string cheese and meat stick

happy Monday!

Good Morning! Daisy, hope your dentist appointment goes well. We didn't do anything too exciting over the weekend but got some errands taken care of and caught up on some of our shows on the DVR. Our weather is all over the place. Last week we had some temps over 80 and then rainy and colder. The weekend was windy but temps were in the high 60's and then today and tomorrow we are over 80 again-who knows what to expect.

Accountability: I had some unplanned items throughout the weekend.

QOTD: I get up early (about 2:45a and am at the gym when they open at 4). I like to be in bed by 7:45p and sleep pretty well overall.

Time since surgery: 3 years 7 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Spinach artichoke feta dip, low carb pita, string cheese, snack bag of apple slices and Carbmaster yogurt

D: Trader Joes turkey burger, mashed cauliflower and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF jam and ¼ cup fiber cereal

E: An hour stair climber this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Morning you guys! Happy Monday!

I enjoyed the birthday party I went to yesterday, everyone was very nice, and two of the men there had done graduate work at a university in the town adjacent to my home town. In fact, one year I (and my son, who was 3 or 4 at the time) lived on that campus while the professor whose place it was was on sabbatical in England. Odd, but cool, that I keep running into people so familiar with that area, 3000 miles away!

My new living room furniture arrives this morning! I'm excited to get it!

QOTD: My sleep is all messed up, and noisy Mia yowling at all hours doesn't help. I find it hard to fall back asleep after being repeatedly woken up. It's 7:15 here and I doubt I've had 3 hours of sleep. I need more Zzzzzs!

First: tea with cinnamon buns pp

B: roast beef, smoked gouda

L: Greek yogurt, cinnamon buns pp

D: turkey

Wishing everyone a beauty of a day!

Good morning almost afternoon.

I am going to pcp to get stitches out this afternoon. Don't remember if I mentioned it here. I had a show down with an immersion blender 10 days ago and lost. Going to ask for blood work so I can check on ferritin and go from there .... as well as talk acid and hernias

QOTD: sleep i**** or miss. My alarm goes off at 7 unless I need to be up earlier. This week I've been sleeping through it I've been so tired. I try to go upstairs at 10. I need to turn the lights off and stop with the phone by 11 but who knows what bunny trail I'm on. There lies the problem. Or like Saturday night Had a FaceTime phone call from grandkids in India at almost 1am, then realized a west coast friend had texted me and texted with her until 2am

B: eggs,TJ lite Mexican blend cheese, low carb pita

B2: Usual Latte

L: emiepie egg salad on very thin corn (like rice) cakes. Rice cakes I hate and get stuck. These taste like something to me and don't know if it's because they are so thin they don't get stuck. Like a ¼ of the width of a rice cake.

D: beef stew-beef and veggies

S: Greek yogurt, protein bar split before and after workout.

Ex: gym, arm day
