Hi everyone, happy Thursday!

Sorry to hear about the cold and storms so many of you are experiencing. Winter's last gasp can be ferocious! But it simply can't last for long. Spring is right around the corner! Up here in the PNW, it's chilly and raining, but after so many years in drought-stricken California, that is beautiful to me in its misty, silvery way!

QOTD: Very small family here: both of my parents have passed on. My dad was an only child, and my mom's only sister died when she was very little. I have some very distant relatives in Europe. I had a great-aunt, my Tante Mitzi, who was utterly fabulous (and who had no children), but she passed on long ago. I miss her! I have one brother (plus a baby brother who died). My brother is married with one child. I am divorced and have one son, and that's it. But my kiddo married into a wonderfully large and interesting clan, which makes me very happy for him! And I too get to enjoy them, which really is fun. I'm very happy that I can now see my son more often - it was worth the move.

First: a huge mug of tea with cashew milk, the first of many!

B: steak with smoked gouda

L: Greek yogurt with a little sugar-free salted caramel syrup

D: chicken, smoked gouda

S: Depending on protein totals, I may have a protein shake.

Stay warm, my friends!

I'm glad you are happy in PNW! A beautiful place to be and having your son nearby must be a big bonus.

Below freezing with the wind. Really April?

QOTD: I have one son and his family- Daughter-in-love and 2 grandchildren, 4 siblings, 14 nieces and nephews, 5 niece/nephew spouses with 7 great niece/nephews. 5 cousins from my Mother's side that all live in Florida but we are all close to. I have my daughter from another mother who moved in with me at 20 years old, single, 8 months pregnant and we didn't really know each other but I knew her future mother-in-law. She married the father while she lived with me, they have three, and the baby born in my home is 15 now. Then there's my son from another mother who was my son's College roommate senior year undergrad. He's from India and lives in NYC now. That family has been extended because his mother died suddenly 2 years ago, do now his sister and brother are here too. Last time I saw them his brother said "You are the only family we have in America" My heart broke. In a good way. I love my family. Far from perfect and we can drive each other crazy, but the love runs deep. My cousin's kids are even more nieces and nephews.

B: fiber hot cereal - oat bran/flax,

B2: eggs lite English muffin

L: chicken bruschetta

D: rib eye steak, veggie tbd

S: Greek yogurt, tumeric milk, protein bar or shake

I love how your family has been extended in definition! We are like that with our son's birth family - we all feel that our family has expanded over the years as we built our relationship (DS's adoption was opened when he was 13).

G'morning all!

such weird weather all over. We are gonna have some rain which is nothing in comparison to all the winds and storms you all have been having.

QOTD: I come from a typical large Italian family. What you see in the movies at the dinner table? That's my family, talking over each other, arguing, and being as loud as can be. So you can imagine my surprise when I met DH's family. One brother (no kids) and mom. The first couple of years thanksgiving and Xmas were really depressing. So I made a deal with him. Every other year for xmas we go home so our kids can see what a real family is. And the years we are here I invite every person I can get my hands on for xmas eve dinner (that's when we celebrate). It is so weird to me that DH's family (he has 4 cousins) are not closer. They are all 5th generation Californians so you would think there should be a lot of family around but the few that are here don't hang out together.

Accountabilty : on point

B: protein shake

L: chicken skewers + broccoli

S: cheese and turkey slice

D: turkey Chili

Happy almost-Friday!
